"Some 91% of men are comfortable having a woman ask them out," says Match's Chief Scientific Advisor, Dr. Helen Fisher. "In fact, men like confident women. When I and my colleagues at Match asked 5,000+ single American men (not Match members) what they noticed first about a potential partner, over 69% said: self-confidence. And 66% also reported that it was "very important" to have a self-confident partner."
No doubt, making the first move is tough, but data shows that the older you get, the more likely you are to take that chance and ask the guy out. Moreover, if you are blonde, ultra-conservative, have children, or live in Wichita (or 9 other smallish cities) you are also more likely to make that first approach. Unfortunately, 85% of us just don't ask. How crazy is that?
