I was raised near New Orleans and grew up in a very "laissez faire" culture. I am laid back, fun-loving, honest, loyal, compassionate and witty (if I do say so myself). I have been known to laugh and giggle so hard that my eyes water and my side hurts. It's one of the best feelings. I believe in having a sense of humor about life. I laugh at myself and am amused by others, often.
My friends say I'm funny, clever and "a catch." But, what do they know??? They're all boring, married people! Kidding. Honestly, I think they'd cry if I were to marry. They enjoy living vicariously through me (and hearing about my nightmare dates) way too much. I'm their only entertainment. It's the cross I must bare, I guess.
Confidence and the way a woman carries herself says so much more than appearance. I pride myself on traveling light and have mastered bringing all that I need in a carry-on when traveling on a plane. I have a sense of style but am not obsessed with labels. I am completely comfortable wearing no make-up at all in public. I'm not saying that the poor citizens of NYC that have to look at my face are comfortable. But, I do it all of the time.
I enjoy going to art/ museum exhibits, theater, checking out the latest restaurant (from dive to upscale as long as the food is yummy), socializing, travel, live music and more. I have plenty of spare time on my hands. My five year old spends half of the time with her father whom she adores and who I have a pleasant co-parenting relationship with. I also have a very flexible work schedule. I try to take advantage of this time by exploring different neighborhoods in the city, traveling or pursuing new interests (I've been fascinated with cooking classes, lately). I have a list of things I'd like to attempt and experience. Even if I fall on my face or hate it, at least I can say that I tried-right?
Mainly, I'm very comfortable in my own skin and at a really great place in my life. I can truly say that I'm the happiest and most confident that I've ever been. And I know the best is yet to come.
My reason for trying Match.com is because I would love to share my interests, experiences and life with a partner. While I do value a fair amount of "me time" I definitely enjoy companionship. Hopefully, I will meet someone who has a good heart, who encourages me to be my best and who loves to be doted on. And if you can tickle my funny bone then that would be a fantastic bonus. :-)
