ABOUT HIM & WHO HE'S LOOKING FOR

I've been described as the strong-silent type. Kind of stoic and humble. Shy too, I'll admit. But once you get to know me, I really open up and will showcase an energetic and adventurous side. I'm looking for someone who isn't caught up in the rat race of life; there is more to it than worrying about material, transient things. I want an adventurous girl who knows how to live life for the moment. Specifically one who is interested in the spiritual/philosophical (without being religious), good film, art, music, and especially physical fitness.

If you're a gold digger, you can just move along, cause I have no money. I'm at the bottom rung in society as a restaurant worker. Actually, it's my families's business, so I have good reason to stick around. It's a decent gig for now. Some women on here talk about wanting a man who has ambition. Well, I have plenty of ambition, but it's geared towards improving my physical fitness, musicianship, and most importantly, gaining a heightened understanding of our place here in this universe. Not so much with career, which is what they mean, I think. You see, I live comfortably and happily with very little. My goal in life is not to attain financial wealth, but to enjoy life's little pleasures and grow as a human being.

With that said, I have enrolled in a community college with a major in English. So, I'm trying to better myself, yes, but in a field that I may enjoy more so than slaving away in a restaurant.

My soon to be ex-wife is a GOOD person, and I mean that quite sincerely. We both learned greatly from each other and matured together during the course of our relationship. But I'm a firm believer that not all relationships are meant to be forever. It served it's purpose, and now it's over. She, like many people, got caught up in pursuing the so-called American dream; i.e., the expensive wedding, the house with a manicured yard and white picket fence, the salary and the corporate ladder, and the amassing of endless possessions. I tell you it's all overrated. I'm going the opposite way now. I've sold most of my belongings and I've moved into a small studio apartment with only the bare essentials as far as possessions go. My bass (update-sold it, I'll be getting an acoustic guitar), my books, CD's, DVD's, and just enough clothes. And my kettlebells too. Screw the gym membership; you can get all the exercise you need with only a few essential items. It's a Spartan, minimalist life for me now. For instance, I don't watch television anymore, because there is nothing worthwhile on. Take those BS "reality" shows (If you watch the bachelor series, you can move along!).

Okay, sorry for the rant, but I think this illustrates how I feel about certain things, and I hope this will give you an idea of what I'm looking for. Look, if you're not uptight about most things, and you can go with the flow of whatever life throws at you, than I guarantee I'll like you a lot. Hey, if life deals you lemons, what do you do?... That's right! make some lemonade!

Listen, I'm not a player. I'd rather have a connection on other levels besides only a physical one. Because that makes intimacy that much better when it gets to that point. What I really want is someone to share life's experiences with. A best friend in life and love. Is that cheezy? Well, it's the truth. I look forward to a new, enduring relationship, possibly with you!

p.s. -Why the weird user name, you ask? Sounds creepy but that's just a joke in reference to my time in the Marines.

Well, lately my free time consists of exercising, and searching around on this website, of course! I'm separated, so a lot of my time revolves around dealing with the changes that come with that.

Favorite hot spots:

I frequent bookstores/coffee shops for any computer work or just leisurely web browsing. Not a big drinker anymore but I'm always up for a night at an Irish pub. I enjoy any park or open public space for relaxation but especially for working out.

I like various types of music and I play a few instruments in a recreational capacity, but my focus now is on playing the acoustic guitar... I love exercising outdoors at public parks several times a week. Fitness is a big deal to me.

A book called Brain Wars, about the mind-body problem and the nature of consciousness.
