ABOUT HER & WHO SHE'S LOOKING FOR

I live for a good adventure. I am known for my sense of curiosity and interest in trying new things.

I love traveling, whether it is a road trip to California or going on safari in Namibia. A few years ago I spent a year traveling around the world. I lived in Australia while in college, and I sometimes fantasize about moving to another country for a year. Experiencing foreign cultures and making friends with 5 common words and lots of sign language is kind of the norm for me when traveling. I feel like we have it so easy in America sometimes. Getting out of our comfort zones is really necessary to appreciate our extraordinary circumstances.

Being engaged in our community is integral to who I am. I love learning and I still have that "save the world" mentality that most people grow out of earlier. It is tempered with realism as well. You don't have to be a do-gooder, but an interest in what is going on around us is kind of sexy to me. So is knowing who you are and what you want, although we are all still trying to figure this out.

Meeting a person face-to-face for a coffee is more my speed than long and protracted e-mail banter. This is how you really get to know each other. Although, if you want to woo me with your dry humor, I am always happy for a giggle and a flirt. I am assertive but in a fun loving way.

I love the Seattle area. I tend to spend my time on-the-go: exercising, walks, going to concerts, theater, politics and current events, going to lectures, volunteering, yoga, being outside, exploring new places, and being with friends. I have yet to go to a Sounders game - a must for this season. Time with family is important to me, as they live here. I sometimes tend to burn the candle at both ends, as I am independent and really enjoy my good friends. I have been accused of being an extrovert, and I wear the badge proudly. Lately I have been trying to carve out more time for myself. Self awareness is oh so important. I have a love/hate relationship with technology. Gadgets are great for society until you have to read all the directions in order to turn them on. I enjoy staying healthy, and I want to continue an active lifestyle until I am 100! Although I have never considered myself an athlete or outdoorsy, I do like a challenge. Today I am cursing my sore muscles from a recent crazy hike, but secretly I love it - when I am done and can brag. Okay, I admit it, I kind of am the girl-next-door, but with some sass.

I believe in the philosophy that slow and steady wins the race. Balance is important in life. We have all been through our own struggles, so having a strong sense of yourself is excellent. Drama-free is a good thing. Intimacy, silliness and affection as well. Self confidence and sweetness will melt me. Humor is so important. I cannot state that enough. Making each other laugh and finding humor during the bad times makes such a difference in a relationship! Somebody who likes to cook for me, laughs at my mild map/urban planning obsession, and lets me hog the blankets gets bonus points!
