I'm a loyal and intelligent guy who has the general idea of where I'm going mapped out, but a tricky time finding the person who is meant to share the journey.
A couple quotes from others that encapsulate me, to an extent:
-"Thanks for listening." I've heard this or a similar paraphrase many, many times, usually sincerely (though not always, ha). I'm very much an intuitive and counseling type of person.* I don't claim to understand or know people better than they do themselves, but I can identify what they want or need and counsel them accordingly. I like it when everything works out for me, I like it when everything works out for you. Conversely, I like getting honest opinions from people I'm close to, though depending on the opinion, the liking may not come for a little while. =P
- "You're smart." This is from people who just interact with me on a fairly shallow, social event/workplace level, and have never seen me navigate my own apartment in the morning before I put my contacts in or try to parallel park successfully in one attempt. I know a lot about some things, and some about a lot of things. I was raised to believe that acquiring knowledge is good for its own sake, and it guides me in quite a bit of my free time. If your idea of "reading" isn't just flipping a magazine open, I'm interested.
- *Laughter* I can be silly or deeply sarcastic or both, sometimes in the same sentence; I like to laugh and I like to make others laugh. Do you?
-"You watch sports?" One of the things that just flat-out stuns people who casually know me is that I'm actually really into a few sports: baseball and football. I played both in high school, and was really good at the former and was given some fun physical quirks by the other.

*I'm one of the bizarre INFJs, for those of you who know what that means.
