I've been living in NY almost 5 years now, but I'm still a Midwest girl at heart and I hope to always be no matter where I end up.
Despite being surrounded by foodies, I can't say I have a refined palate. I will eat almost anything. Sometimes that's a tub of cheese balls and a 2 liter of Coke on the couch (stop judging me). Other times it's actually good food at decent places. If you are a food snob though, we probably can't even be friends. Cool Ranch tacos anyone?
I enjoy campy 80s action movies and think it's a tragedy there aren't action heroes like that anymore (Arnold, JCVD, etc.). It's just not the same! I also like sci-fi and comedy. I'm currently obsessed with Game of Thrones (show & books).
My girlfriends lovingly tease me about my interests being eerily similar to that of a 15 year old nerdy boy.
When I'm not working you can find me out and about with friends. We have weekly trivia, karaoke nights, game nights and outings where we just eat, drink and be merry. When I can I volunteer with my friend at an animal shelter. I also enjoy taking art classes but I'm not a serious artist, at least not to the point of cutting my ear off. I enjoy my quiet nights as well, usually reading or watching a really good bad movie.
It's important for someone to have a good sense of humor because my type of humor isn't for everyone. You should also enjoy watching sports like football and hockey (remember I am from the Midwest). The willingness to explore anywhere and everywhere is also a plus (Alaska??). The ability to grow a nice beard is a big bonus. I guess I have this weird attraction to lumberjacks... or maybe I'm just into non-threatening, bearded men who wield axes. Please don't contact me if you're into wearing really tight jeans or deep V-neck t-shirts. Thanks.
