Growing up in a small farming community instilled in me a lot of traits that have defined who I am to this day. I believe that people are generally good-natured, nice, and honest. I attempt to embody those traits in my everyday life while injecting it with a healthy dose of humor (usually in the form of extreme sarcasm). Life isn't fun if you can't laugh at it some of the time, right? Friendships, family, and relationships are extremely important to me as I put a premium on human connections and shared experiences. I am looking to find someone who I genuinely connect with on a personal level and with whom I can can be open, forthright, and truly myself... and, let's be real, who I'm also attracted to :-)

With that preamble out of the way, let's get into more about me. I'm here because a surprising amount of my friends met significant others/spouses using match and other online services, so I figure I may as well give it a try, especially since my social circles are pretty well established. I am a very active person, finding a lot of my social interactions in team sports. Being fit and enjoying physical activities is important since I spend so much of my time being active. When I've exhausted all of my energy, though, there's nothing better than crashing on the couch, hot chocolate or wine in hand, getting the fireplace burning, and reading a book or recounting the day in conversation, preferably with a fellow human, but sometimes I talk to my dog if no one is around.
I'm generally upbeat, believe there's no point in getting down or worrying about things you can't change. Enjoy life. We get one shot at it, so why not try to make it a fun experience! I tend to be able to fit into any social situation you will drop me into, but I prefer smaller groups or one-on-one time with people. Family and friends have always been important, so I place great value on cultivating deep, lasting relationships with people. The downside to this is that small talk bores me... a lot... since I would rather discuss deep, meaningful topics rather than the weather, what Diane was wearing at work, or the details of the latest reality TV show.

I want to find someone who is at a point in her life where she's ready to contemplate a relationship and is dating with a goal in mind, not just for entertainment, to figure out what she wants, or to simply pass the time (but let's be real... all dating starts as entertainment and just trying to find someone to pass the time. I want something that builds past that, however). Humor is important to me (fun fact, I used to be an improv comedy performer years ago), since life presents us with so many opportunities to laugh. I also crave mental stimulation, so being able to engage me and challenge me intellectually is quite the attractive trait. I'm also not too afraid to admit that I am vain to some extent (really, who isn't?) and am looking for someone who is athletic and gets me to turn my head.
