So, this is the part where I have to write a compelling narrative and try to sell myself like on the home shopping network… Here goes...
I honestly do kind of look at Match kind of like the home shopping network; you can browse around read profiles, (window shop if you will) but you really don’t know what you are getting until you actually meet someone in person. I personally, think that the entire process is somewhat unnatural; however I will say that I don’t have any better ideas… I have never been one for meeting people at the local bar and more than likely our paths would not cross if not for this site.
So a little about me… I try to live life one day at a time, and have some fun along the way. I am sarcastic, and would like meet someone with a similar sense of humor. I try to be a very honest and open person, I am not very good a “sugar coating”.
I am divorced and I have a 4 1/2 year old son. My Ex and I have 50/50 split custody and I try to be very involved in my son’s life. I want nothing more than for him to say that I was a good dad when he is my age; and we come as a package deal. There no drama between his mom and I; and I am not looking for a replacement mommy as he already has a wonderful mom (we just didn’t do so well as husband and wife).
I am very easy going and I try not to let the small stuff get to me. Life is too short to worry about every little thing. I also try to live life without regrets; regrets and resentment only hold you back and keep you in the past.
I have a stable career and I have worked for the same company for 12 years. I am very fortunate, despite having a management position, I am able to wear jeans to work on a daily basis.
In terms of a new relationship, I would like to meet someone with similar interests and beliefs, and hopefully we have enough things in common that we can grow as a couple and develop a serious and meaningful relationship. I would really like to have the feeling of butterflies in my stomach when the phone rings and I see your name on caller ID; or to have the sound of your voice instantly put a smile on my face. I also realize that all relationships must be built on a solid foundation or else they will crumble over time.
Long story short, I don’t know who I may meet, or what might happen. But I do know that I will meet people that I probably wouldn’t have met in my daily life, and hopeful we brightened each other’s day if only for an instant.
