Hey I'm Shane! I'm half amazing, and the left over bit is a work in progress lol. I guess you could say I hail from Los Angeles, but have called many places home. I'm a hard working dame, with a great sense of humor and style. I'm a lil' quirky, but in a refreshing kind of way. I can be girly, but I'm not afraid to get my hands a lil' dirty. Since I refuse to rattle off a ransom letter-esque list of demands fit for a delusional rom-com character (lmbo), I'll just share the following. Feel free to respond or simply let it marinate... -Do you believe in finding a perfect match? Hmm, that's a valid question. Well, now that I'm older I finally have some life experiences to draw from. I’ve come to realize that I am what I attract. My tag line says, 'Hidden Gem Seeks Dapper Dan’ (read: handsome good humored gentleman). I believe that in order for me to earn that reward, I must be a reflection of that which I desire. We need to mirror each other. It's reciprocal. I want a funny dude, so I should be able to take a joke. I want a smart dresser, so I need to exude confidence and dress to kill. I need a sweet and generous guy, so I need to be patient and benevolent with others and give more than I take. I can't sit on my arse and think Mr. Right is just going to fall out of the sky, land on bent knee, and ask for me to marry him. It doesn't work like that, wish it did, but it doesn't. It takes hard work, a winning attitude and lots prayer lol. -What expectations do you have when it comes to men? I desire a man who is strong, but not emotionally unavailable. I too have high standards when it comes to a great many things, esp. matters of the heart. I want to be in a relationship with a humble yet amazing bloke who treats me like a queen. Relax, I don't expect a knight in shining armor to "rescue" me from the west coast. I'm not looking for a sponsor, I’m looking for a best friend lol. (Although, it’s nice to be spoiled every now and then). I like to pull my own weight in a relationship and expect reciprocity. If I give 110 percent of myself to my guy, I expect the same in return. I feel many women make the mistake of placing demands on a guy that they themselves don't reflect. How dare I expect you to possess the very attributes I lack. Who wants to be in a lop-sided relationship? Not I said the fly lol. I want the Trifecta: to be cherished, challenged and changed for the better. -Do you take yourself seriously? Not at all. I laugh at myself constantly throughout the day. I used to be clumsy as a kid, which is why my mom enrolled me in ballet class. I had to learn then to not sweat the small stuff. I wouldn't be the graceful swan I am today if it weren't for her. Plus I have a dark sense of humor, and can squeeze a giggle out of the most awkward of situations. It's probably a coping mechanism I'm sure. My muses: Film/TV Faves: Swingers, Harold and Kumar, Coming To America, Friends With Kids, Bridesmaids, Wanderlust, 2 Days In Paris, Broken English, (500) Days of Summer, Last Night, Cyrus, The Hangover, anything w/ Adam Goldberg or Will Farrell. Portlandia, Downton Abbey, The Office, Modern Family, The Mindy Project, Community, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, New Girl, Scandal, Southland, SNL, Happy Endings, Family Guy/American Dad!, Arrested Development, Nip/Tuck, The League and Breaking Bad. I'm a music junkie. No matter the genre, I love true musicianship. I'm no music snob (if that's a thing). From Tame Impala to Talib Kweli --I'm all ears! I also have an affinity for movie scores/composers both new/old (i.e. The Cinematic Orchestra/Ennio Morricone). It clearly doesn't stop there. Nay, I can get weird and listen to some Portishead lol. Suffice it to say that I have a pretty eclectic ear. Suggestions are always welcome. Fancy a game of paint ball or a visit to a wine bar? Perhaps we can talk about how I plan to own you at air hockey lol. Let's grab some over-priced coffee and shoot the breeze!!
