I work in an art-related field and, counter to what most people seem to expect from an Indian guy who lives in Redmond, I don't work for Microsoft.
I'm a big fan of travel and visiting other countries-I've lived on 3 different continents and been lucky enough to have visited a bunch of different places. You haven't lived until you find out that you and your best friend missed your station and are now stuck two hours out of the city in rural Japan . . . at 1AM. I don't regret that at all, though I do regret quite a lot of the time I spent in Belgium.
I'm almost done with school (for the 2nd time!) after having switched careers from accounting to video game art (you'll get the long version when we meet in person). It's definitely been a funky transition to make but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Let's forget for a moment that that light represents that I'll be paying taxes, more rent, car payments and student loans for the next few years.
Wide ranging conversations and me go hand in hand. I'm equally comfortable talking about sports teams, the latest findings in the fields of astronomy or economics, the difficulties of mothers in the Japanese workplace or about that hole in the wall restaurant that I just tried out.
Intelligent, inquisitive, honest, generally happy and willing to meet in person would probably be the things I'm looking for most in you. If you can also manage to be funny, a bit sarcastic, drama-free and totally-not-a-serial-killer, I'd also really appreciate that!
