ABOUT HIM & WHO HE'S LOOKING FOR

I like laughing with a good friend and thoughtful conversation and learning with good friends about personal experiences and shared interests. I’m passionate about making contributions to neuroscience research and neuroscience-inspired technologies that help people. I enjoy classical music (especially composers like J. S. Bach, Mozart, and Vivaldi) and also some alternative, rock, pop, folk, etc. I'm currently rehearsing a piece by Beethoven in a choral group. Occasionally I experiment with musical composition. I like nature and running in beautiful places. I like the energy, optimism, and creativity of Silicon Valley. I’m interested in robotics. I value home, cozy things, friends, family, animals, gardens, and healthy food. I only drink about once a month, and only socially and only a small amount. I’m interested in education, philosophy, science, politics, current events, staying informed, living an examined life, and discovering what is a good, healthy, and happy life.

I'm a postdoctoral researcher in neuroscience with a joint appointment at a university in the Boston area and an institute in the San Diego area. My research is a combination of theoretical and experimental work focused on understanding parts of the brain called the basal ganglia. I'll probably look for a faculty job within the next few years.

I'm looking for a best friend whom I'm also deeply attracted to and in love with and who feels the same way about me. I want to create a beautiful, fun, happy, meaningful life with someone, including having children and having a sense of adventure even in simple things. I’m looking for friendship, trust, honesty, playfulness, mutual respect, shared responsibility, and good communication. We support each other in discovering and becoming who we most deeply want to be. I'm looking for someone stable, reliable, kind, gentle, loving, thoughtful, patient, sincere, loyal, good with children, health conscious, and physically and emotionally healthy. Ideally, she also has a great sense of humor as well as a serious side and is playful, in touch with her "inner child," intelligent, and creative. She enjoys music, nature, animals, thoughtful conversations, deep and intimate sharing, laughing, being affectionate, and teaching, playing with, and spending time with children. However, despite this long list of ideal qualities, I'm not looking for someone who is perfect! :)
