Bonus points for those who can identify that line! So I moved to Boston from Cincinnati, Ohio in January 2008. Basically, after living in Cincinnati my entire life, I realized that it was not the place for a 30 year-old, single guy like myself. All of my friends were married and having kids, and my social life felt like that of a 70 year-old.
Which brought me here! This was the craziest thing I have ever done, and most of my friends and family back home are still scratching their heads over it. I needed to be around some independent, educated, and most importantly SINGLE people! It has been a great ride so far, and I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds. I am certainly open to another move at some point, as I can get claustrophobic when spending too much time in one place.
I feel it is very difficult to sum yourself and your wants and needs up in a few short paragraphs, but I will give it a shot anyway.
I am looking for a professional, goal-oriented woman who loves to laugh and have fun. I try to find humor in most situations. Game-playing is a big turn-off to me. I've had enough of playing games in the past. I want someone that I can have intelligent conversation with who has some different interests than me. I definitely want someone who loves to travel, as I really am trying to see as much of the world in my 30s that I can! So far I have been to Europe twice, and definitely want to hit some other continents in the next few years.
I am definitely that "life-of-the-party" guy, who will risk embarrassment for the humor factor. Actually, who am I kidding, it takes a lot to embarrass me. I feel that you can't take yourself too seriously. If you can't laugh at yourself, life is simply no fun. I also have a tendency to be very sarcastic and downright cynical at times (ok, most of the time). Good grammar and spelling is also very important to me, so if you do not know the difference between "your" and "you're" or if you use the term "supposably," we probably won't be a match.
Physically, I am a strong, strapping lad, so if you're looking for a wimpy guy that can't finish his dinner, that is not me. I often have people ask me if I played football in high school or college. In case you were wondering, I didn't. I was too busy studying to have time for that stuff. Ok, that is just my excuse! You don't have to rub it in!
I love catching a movie, or going to dinner, or to a game, but I am definitely willing to see a ballet or a play, or just stay in and relax and watch a movie. I also have an adorable miniature schnauzer named Maggie (see picture) who made the 14-hour trek to Boston with me. She is a trooper! I love taking her for walks, and she is a big fan as well. Bonus points for any dog lovers I meet!
Being active is also very important to me. I am currently back in the gym, and hoping to run my first 5K soon, with the ultimate goal being to run a marathon someday. I also love playing tennis, and am on 2 softball teams. I try to always be busy, but am certainly not opposed to killing an entire Sunday barely moving from the couch. (Especially during football season)
And on a serious note, my father passed away unexpectedly in the beginning of October, so I am really re-dedicating myself to meeting and surrounding myself with as many good, stable, quality people as I can. Life is too short to waste time with people that aren't worth it!
But seriously, enough about me, I would like to hear from you!
