I don't think that it's difficult to know that you've found the right person to have in your life.
There's something you can sense in another. A genuine look, a responsive email or text, an invite to a random function, a sense that they're listening and that you want to tell them everything. An odd lack of feeling the need to apologize for anything. The feeling that they do actually care about you. A friend.
Someone who's willing to take a chance on you.
I would love to find that someone who is also a challenge to me, to what I know, to what I am comfortable with, yet be that comfort to me and bring me peace of mind. Fun, energetic, yet laid back, easy-going. Ambitious and hard-working, but appreciative of slower-paced ways of doing things. Family-oriented. An "includer" into a circle of friends. Someone that will agree to disagree, and not disagreeably in the process.
I'm new to the city - just came here after selling my home in the burbs. I work downtown, travel a good deal for work and have a demanding job that I like (not days). I love to travel, see new things, try new things, get out there. I love to cook and want to be better at it. I love wine, and want to learn more about it. I want to get involved in activities here and be overwhelmed by the opportunities. I want to be lazy on a couch watching Rachel Maddow or Downton Abbey or HGTV or the next great show that someone has hooked me on I want to be in the middle of a party (even as a host) and yeti lap hang out on the balcony and people-watch on a Sunday morning.
I've been in a long-term relationship before - I get that this isn't easy, and I've learned so much positive stuff from that experience. I'm working to put myself out there, and am really looking forward to meeting new people, friends and more, right here in the city. If nothing else, I can be a great friend - trusting, loyal and reliable.
