I'm somewhat on the quiet reserved side, but am an extrovert in the sense that I seek out being around other people. I have a lot of positive qualities and have a lot to offer someone--I'm a good friend to others, attentive, caring, smart, fun, and generally have my act together. I know what is most important to me--my kids family, my friends, and happiness. I know what I want out of life--someone to share it with. I know better than to expect to find this anytime soon, but it's a goal. In the meantime, I'd like to start exploring the city more, so I'm looking for a someone to have fun with, get to know better, and then who knows. I haven't done much dating over the past couple of years, but have been encouraged to do this, so we'll see.
I guess I should add a few more words about myself... I grew up overseas but have been in the DC area since coming here for college. I'm well educated but always looking for new things to learn. I have a great job, have been working in finance investments for a long time, but am always wondering what else I might do with it next. When I'm not working, I try to do some networking, which can be fun social, and sometimes even productive. I try to spend a lot of time outside exercising, good for the body mind. But obviously what drives what I do and think about, even if they only live with me half the time, are my kids.
The qualities that I will be looking for - someone that I feel comfortable talking to (while I can easily hold a conversation, finding someone that feels like a natural connection I think is rare). Someone that I'm impressed by (capable, competent, smart). Funny (and thinks I'm funny. Or at least mildly amusing). Caring. Adventurous. Encouraging.
I could keep going about things that are important to me in the long term. I'll be keeping those things in mind, and start by finding someone who's excited that spring is here, which means it's time for some wine in the sun. Who's maybe up for seeing some new bands at the 930 Club. Who's up for coming up with some ideas, as I'll always be up for something new. Or at the least, who's up for grabbing a cup of coffee and seeing what's next.
