ABOUT HIM & WHO HE'S LOOKING FOR

Hi, thanks for taking the time to read my profile. It's a pretty daunting task to "describe yourself" within a couple paragraphs, but I'll do my best to try:)

My parents are of Indian origin. They lived in Zambia for a few years, where i was "conceived" (I love saying that...it's my way of proving that I am part African...lol). While my mom was still pregnant they moved to Florida. I came in the world shortly thereafter and I became the first child, on both sides of the family, to be born in the U.S.

Shortly after I was born, we went to California, but at the age of five, we moved to Pennsylvania, where I basically grew up. The town I grew up in was in the boondocks (no jokes ...there was a barn down the street from where I lived!)

Naturally, after being stuck in the countryside for most of my life, I always dreamed of being in an urban environment, where there was public transportation, people of different ethnicities, great food, etc. So, obviously the NYC area was #1 on my list of places to go for college. I went to Stevens, in Hoboken, NJ and have been in the area ever since.

I guess I should now talk about the type of person I'm looking for. Here's my list:

Personality:
- I'd like someone who is comfortable in her own skin and is confident.
- open-minded and tolerant of other people's views and opinions...yet not afraid to voice her own.
- Someone down-to-earth. (Pretentiousness is a major turn-off)

Food:
- you don't necessarily need to know how to cook (although you get major plus points if you do.)
- I don't care about veg or non-veg (I eat everything)
- I would like someone who is willing to try different cuisines and is not so picky about what she eats.

Travel:
- I love traveling. (Don't get to travel as much as I would like)
- Ideally I'd want a good partner to explore the world with. I'm really interested in seeing areas in the world that are rich in culture and history. So I'd like to be with someone who is a little adventurous and open to new ideas and experiences.

Religion:
- not important to me whatsoever. I'm a spiritually-minded individual. I believe all religions are true (they are different roads leading to same destination)

Interests:
Coffee and conversation, Business networking, Dining out, Movies/Videos, Museums and art, Music and concerts, Exploring new areas, Nightclubs/Dancing, Performing arts, Playing sports, Political interests, Religion/Spiritual, Travel/Sightseeing, Volunteering, Watching sports, Wine tasting
Sports & exercise:
Basketball, Billiards / Pool, Bowling, Football, Dancing, Running, Tennis / Racquet sports, Other types of exercise
Exercise habits:
I exercise 3-4 times per week
Pets:
I'll tell you later
Political views:
Liberal
Sign:
Cancer
College:
I'll tell you later
For fun:

I enjoy going out in the city, hanging out with friends, sports, reading, and traveling.

Favorite hot spots:

I love to travel although, lately, i haven't had a chance to do it as much as I would like. In terms of local places, I dont do nightclubs any more. I like hole-in-the wall restaurants, speakeasy bars, and various lounges in and around the city.

Favorite things:

Music: I'm an avid music lover - 80's, 90s, classic rock, punk rock, hip hop, old and new Hindi music, Indian classical, reggae, R&B , and everything in between.

TV: Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld, Entourage, True Blood, Boardwalk Empire

Last read:

"Banker to the Poor", by Mohamed Younis. He is a Nobel Peace Prize Winner and his book talks about his concept of "Micro-lending", helping thousands of people in impoverished regions of the world out of poverty
