Hello and thank you for taking interest in my profile!
My friends and family would describe me as genuine, compassionate, loyal, independent, determined, enthusiastic, thoughtful, creative, witty, outgoing, curious, competitive, sarcastic, vivacious, intelligent, and active. I am sorry for the slew of adjectives, but they describe me perfectly! I am a full-time student at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and I work at a Chicago Public School in the inner city as a first grade facilitator part-time. I will graduate with my bachelor’s degree in May, and I am looking forward to pursuing a career with a non-for-profit organization. In addition, I hope to go to graduate school part-time, in the fall, as I am in the process of applying to Jane Addams School of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Community Health and Urban Development will be my concentration, as my experiences volunteering have opened my eyes to the dire need of social workers in community based organizations. Volunteering is something that I hold dear to my heart. The non-for-profit organization that I have been volunteering with for over three years strives to better the lives of inner city children and youth by promoting performance-based skills. For example, we hold talent shows in Englewood as a way for community members to express themselves and develop through performance. Just in case you did not pick up on it by now, I am very passionate about advocating for inner city children and youth:)
In addition to my passion, I have a wide variety of interests including world music Wednesday’s at the Old Town School of Folk and playing and watching sports. Speaking of sports, I feel the sexiest when I am in workout clothes. I value good health; therefore I maintain a healthy lifestyle by working out at the gym or engaging in physical activities elsewhere. One interesting fact about me is that I love to dance. I grew up dreaming that I would be a Honey Bear someday (my Uncle dated one back in the day and she apparently made a positive impression on me). This being said, if you enjoy dancing, then that is a huge plus (but not required). Moreover, if you can sing and dance to the “oldies but goodies,” then we will get along famously! I do welcome all styles of dancing, as I know guys tend to show their true dance skills after a few beers:)
I am looking for someone who is confident, genuine, compassionate, passionate, outgoing, positive, intelligent, sarcastic, active, and fiscally responsible (yes, the long list of adjectives again:) A person who is adventurous is most definitely welcomed! I am looking for a man that is active and enjoys playing and watching sports. It is important to note, softball and golf are my weaker sports:)
