ABOUT HIM & WHO HE'S LOOKING FOR

If an alien race descended upon our planet and only had match.com as a reference point for the human way of life, they would glean the following assumptions:

-People go skydiving and hiking every day. If we're not plummeting toward the planet, we're arduously climbing it.
-At sunset, we all venture indoors, traveling in packs of ten, dressed to the nines, because we all "outgrew" going to the bars at age 19, but legislation mandates it's the only place we're allowed to take photographs during the night hours.
-We're a nomadic race that faces crippling unemployment, because we're all too busy traveling to exotic locales to keep a job.
-Counterintuitive to my last point, we're all confoundingly "driven, ambitious, and goal-oriented," the universal tenets that somehow bind us as a human race as if they're a doctrine handed down through the ages so that we can work toward some type of ambiguously improved future no one can really define. On a related point, the practice of working hard is for an unknown reason inextricably tethered to the notion of playing hard.
-There is an evolutionary flaw in the human brain that renders us unable to assimilate the written word, because, apparently, we all dedicate plenty of time to reading, yet none of us have ever seemed to learn proper spelling and syntax.
-"The Walking Dead" and "Breaking Bad" are mandatory viewing, as deemed by the powers that be.
-Smokers might, in fact, be the devil.

If you haven't grown fatigued by my sarcasm at this point, let me tell you a little about myself. Sunlight literally hurts my eyes, and since I moved to Texas from Illinois, I've been forced to carry polarized sunglasses with me at all times. I don't hate being outdoors when it's below ninety degrees, but it's never been something with which I've ever been particularly enchanted, either. I grew up on a golf course and playing sports, but at this point in my life, I'd sooner spend time under the roof I work to pay for. I don't enjoy exercise. I recognize that it provides a boost in endorphins, but when I go running and lift weights, I only do so out of some form of guilt, the root of which I've never been able to pinpoint. Therefore, it isn't a huge part of my life, just something I do on a semi-regular basis so I can fool myself into believing I'm not lazy. Unlike many people on this site, I don't care if anyone I associate with is "athletic." Seriously, we're adults. Exactly how is athletic prowess in any way useful? Just admit it. You want someone that's sexy. You don't care if they can run, jump, or bench press a pickup truck. You just want them to look good naked, but I digress...

I'm a smart guy, and in my free time, I actually enjoy reading and writing, but admittedly, I waste more time than I should watching television and movies. I wrote a book a few years ago. However, absolutely no one wanted to publish or represent it. I was still pleased with myself for being able to put together 270 pages of related content, despite it's total lack of coherence.

As for my career, I don't really have any goals I'd like to achieve outside retiring in about 25 years. I know that shirking ambition is a sin in some circles, but my job is easy, I get tons of time off, and it will pay for anything I could realistically see myself needing. I'm not greedy.

Even though it pains me to admit that I'm a nice guy, I really love my sisters and my mother. I'd probably do anything for them that I could short of a ritual sacrifice. I have a number of close friends that conjure similar sentiment, as well.

Beyond that, I like to go out at night to the bars. I know it's often viewed as a flaw of character or a sign of immaturity, but I enjoy loosening up with a few drinks, telling funny stories, people watching, and the company of others who are willing to laugh at themselves. If you're fun loving, interesting in any way, and not one to judge, please feel free to contact me.
