Hello!
I'm here because I'm looking to expand my social circle and possibly meet someone special. I'm not normally a huge fan of websites like this, but because of my current lifestyle (and also partly my shyness) I have a difficult time making new connections...So, here it goes!
There are many activities and practices that I like to do, none of which I would say I have mastered, but I prefer to do things because I can learn from them and enjoy them. My friends have told me that I am a very kind, insightful and patient person and that I have a great sense of humor.
I am very sensitive to the impacts that we as humans have on our surroundings, and I try to live a very simple and self-sufficient lifestyle. I also have had a vegan diet for 8 years and I was a vegetarian for 3 years before that. I believe in living a life that is fulfilling, meaningful and productive, we have such potential to create change in the world and bring happiness to others.
I'm currently working as a Sailmaker in Salem, and although it is not exactly my passion I am constantly learning new things. I went to school to learn how to build wooden boats after I graduated high school, and since then I have built a couple wooden boats and I also taught and worked as a carpenter for a while. I guess I am mostly interested in picking up old-school trades (particularly trades that involve boats), which is why I have moved on to making sails for the last couple years. I also recently found a classic old 36' sailboat that I am going to start living aboard this fall.
