About Me - Stream of Consciousness narrative form:
My friends believe I'm crazy in the best way possible! I am constantly seeking challenge, and never want to fear change as a means of improving or reinvigorating my life. I am happy, confident, hard-working, independent, and strong. I am looking for someone who complements me, not completes me. I am quick-witted, which sometimes leads to me being a little bit of a smart (_|_). But that doesn't usually last long! I am a little bit shy - especially in large groups versus one-on-one. People usually describe me as sweet and kind-hearted. I always want to help others, and need to watch that in relationships. As my friends remind me jokingly, "You can't fix crazy!" :) I cry at anything remotely emotional in movies, but very rarely about real life. I get very affected by the words and actions of people around me, so I choose to find positive people to make friends with. I love people who can make me laugh, and I love laughing to the point of tears. I enjoy the humor in tv shows like How I Met Your Mother and The Mighty Boosh (very strange British show, but points if you've seen it and don't think I am a total freak for enjoying it!).
I enjoy sports like doubles tennis, hiking, softball, and kickball more than I enjoy running just for the sake of running - which is still good now and then. I have been working out at my work gym 3 days a week now and doing pilates twice a week, though I try to make time for a tennis game here and there and would love to be more regular about playing! Working out and staying active with a partner would be an excellent way to spend some (but hopefully not all) time together. I also like watching sporting events, though sometimes my attention span runs out and I just end up wanting to play for myself instead of watching from the sidelines. I like all sorts of music - but do tend to favor pop and some hip hop and RB. I enjoy singing, though I know I am no Whitney Houston! Singing in the car for no particular reason is one of my favorite things in the world - sort of a stress relief. If you can't stand whistling and some singing and humming here and there, you probably won't like me too much! ;)
I had my Master's degree at age 21. If that kind of ambition and intelligence in a girl is somehow highly intimidating or a turn off, please move on! I am looking for someone who can be a confident and equal partner with me -- someone who is proud of his own personal accomplishments and who values mine in return. I don't believe education or money or status necessarily makes someone "better" than any other person. With that said, a few related positive results of this achievement/background are that I know how to deal with stress in healthy ways, I fully believe that life is not all about career/school achievements and I strive to be a "balanced" person since finishing my M.S., and that I tend to think like a problem solver (which means I can't stand people who don't look for solutions to their own problems after complaining about them repeatedly to others!). If you have any questions, just ask! I am pretty good at responding if I'm interested.
P.S. I will say that I can eat quite a bit for my size, and I LOVE good food and desserts! I am on a strictly gluten free diet now, and while I don't expect a partner to follow the same diet, some understanding and support would be nice. If you are a total foodie and this fact bothers you, I can completely understand.
