ABOUT HER & WHO SHE'S LOOKING FOR

I learn everything I possibly can from my mistakes. Our first annual "girls" camping trip started out with a campfire that was an epic failure. We had our firewood, but forty-five minutes, 250 matches, and an entire Scripto lighter later, we had to go next door and ask our neighbors for help. Apparently lighter fluid and a blowtorch can do the trick in an embarrassing 30 seconds. Fortunately, I work in a department of fire-safety engineers who...after wiping away their tears from laughing so hard were more than happy to teach me a few tricks of the trade. The next time, I lit that sucker with one match.

I think that most problems/issues boil down to very simple things (or lack thereof). That being said, trust, attitude, respect, and interest are the most important factors for me in a relationship and in life. Everything else has a way of working itself out. I believe in blessings in disguise, silver linings, and the lessons both have to teach us. Ultimately it's not the answers that matter most to me, but the process.

On a lighter note, when I'm not philosophizing or attempting to start a campfire, you can find me in the loop at work in a job that I love, volunteering at the Art Institute, listening to WWDTM or This American Life, nerding out boring my friends with what I heard on Science Friday or a TED talk, roadtripping it out east to see family, eating mostly vegetables but indulging in the occasional bacon cheeseburger, getting in a good workout, teaching my four-year-old excellent dance moves, or thanks to Netflix being totally sucked into an entire season of 24.

I find intelligence, drive, and curiosity about the world very attractive. We should be similar enough that we enjoy hanging out together, but different enough that we also enjoy learning from one another. Major bonus points if you can make me laugh out loud while I'm reading your profile.

A few points worth noting:
- I prefer to date in the city (at least initially)
- I want to have more kids. So I'm looking for someone who is either ready to start their family or also wants to have more kids.

If that all sounds good, send me a message! I don't usually respond to winks, but I try to respond to emails.

You may want to reconsider if any of the following are dealbreakers... I get my news from The Daily Show, I may possibly definitely recruit you to help me with my crafts when I've bitten off more than I can chew, and a Friday night movie on the couch snuggled up with you = 100% chance I will fall asleep. Hopefully you take that as a compliment, but if you take offense, you're going to want to move on.

I actually enjoy writing those first emails, so give me a good challenge! Good luck with your search!
