ABOUT HER & WHO SHE'S LOOKING FOR

I moved near Boulder two years ago to get my PhD in Theatre. I find teaching to be the most rewarding, fun, and challenging thing I've ever done. Academia has always had a grip on my heart and I can't believe I've managed to stay away as long as I have. This is a new adventure in my life's journey and I can't wait to embrace each and every moment of it! Starting last summer, I've embraced regular exercise and a healthy diet into my life. Not only have I lost weight, but working out boosts my energy and keeps my stress down. I try to exercise 5-6 days a week and its something I'd enjoy sharing with a special someone.

Some random facts about me? I love pepsi and macaroni and cheese. Hell, all pastas are fabulous. I play the cello, do improv, make live theater. I love to bowl, play rock band, and sit around shooting the shit with friends. Museums are my jam, random trivia nights are my bliss, and seeing any TV show or film with any cast members from The State just plain rocks my world. I would happily spend the rest of my days hip hop dancing if it weren't for the nutty ideals of personal success and my overwhelming passion for creating art.

I'm really motivated to try several of the popular outdoor sports I see many people mentioning in their profiles. Now that I've moved from NYC to CO, I feel ready to make the most of the beautiful nature accessible to me. I've finally gotten into biking on a regular basis on the trails around my neighborhood, but I would very much like to be taken out hiking, kayaking, camping, fishing, or rafting! As far as night life goes, I prefer the low key hang out to the loud, smoky, packed bar or club scene. Seriously, how well can you get to know someone or enjoy them, more so, when you're all scrunched and sweaty and sloshed? Well, that's my opinion, anyways.

My match? A guy who's tallish, who's somewhat offbeat, quirky and fun. Anyone who defines themselves as a nerd and/or geek would probably be quite suitable; goofy is also acceptable. Interests outside of the superficial and financial are always nice. I want to find someone to share my life with. A partner, a best friend, a companion, a lover, a gentleman, an honest man who will stand by me, bring out the best in me, cheer me up when I'm down, make me laugh til I cry, encourage me to take risks, hold me til I fall asleep, challenge me to think, and support me while I pursue my dreams. For the right guy, in exchange, I will give so much more than I get. Ultimately, I want to find my buddy, that someone who knows me better than I know myself. Yes, it takes time for this, but with the right person, it seems you know each other instantly. The most romantic and passionate relationships are rooted in this, I think.

When I finish my dissertation in a year or two, there's a decent chance I'll be moving out of state for a job (my field has a minimum number of opportunities with a lot of competition). I noticed so many people on here seem like they have finally settled down in Colorado, thought I'd be upfront about my uncertain future regarding residency. But I'm game to meet men who think they're "home" but are willing to take a chance on the possibility of a real connection with someone that might compel them to eventually uproot themselves for the greater good.
