Hi, I'm James. I was reluctant to do match, but I'm noticing there are some wonderful people on here. So, I'm hopeful and optimistic. Life is filled with so much amazingness to learn, explore, and experience! I'm a Chicagoan originally, then moved to AZ after H.S. to attend Arizona State University. I graduated with a degree in Kinesiology (Exercise and Wellness). I've had a diverse and colorful decade, filled with amazing business ventures, travel, and great time with friends.
Love this Quote:
"Only as high as I reach can I grow,
Only as far as I seek can I go,
Only as deep as I can look I can see,
Only as much as I dream can I be"
I love the outdoors, being one with nature and taking time to admire the beauty and complexity of all the different organisms. One of favorite things to do is fall asleep outdoors with a nice cool breeze, sound of waves crashing a shore, and the sound of palms or trees swaying. It is a passion to admire nature for its awesome grandeur and power, being moved by the sight of the Grand Canyon, any ocean, star filled sky, or vast green rolling hills and mountains.
Food. What more can I say, I grew up within cultures that prided themselves with excellent cuisine and held family gatherings very important. Other than being blessed with two amazing cultures, I also grew up in one of the best food cities in the world..good old Chicago! Upon arriving to Arizona I was a bit worried and skeptical about the cuisine, but I remained confident that I could and would make the best of my time here. Indeed I did. I quickly found PIta Jungle, one of my favorite restaurants of all time. Then other restaurants came to my attention such as the Salt Cellar (oh my have the Shrimp San Remo appetizer!), Postinos, Mosaic, Shimogamo, Arrivirderci, Pestos, etc.. of course I could not leave out my fav Four Peaks (by far the best Chicken Strips in the world!)
Exercise and sports have been a part of my life since I could walk and remember. It was certainly a blessing to have healthy and active parents and siblings. Growing up in Chicago, especially in the city, we had to go to the park and play, with no or limited back yards the city became our playground. I have played pretty much every land sport, I ended up focusing on Volleyball in H.S. and almost decided to go be the setter for a University in Chicago. Today I enjoy tennis, boxing, yoga, weight training, swimming (working on it), and indoor rock gyms...I look forward to exploring some water sports and perhaps even skiing.
Art and creating is my life. I am an artist first and foremost. I see the world through artist lenses, textures, smells, colors, composition, lighting, mood, bodies are noticed and appreciate for its beauty. I am a painter, illustrator, sculptor, videographer, photographer, etc. I have resisted being labeled or pigeon holed while a painter, I have painted as a surrealist, abstract impressionist, and even a realist. It is a humbling experience having your work hanging in a gallery and having people view it and sharing their thoughts. It is my favorite to hear unique and different interpretations of an image, I certainly do not force meaning unto someone, I let one' s own mind and experience interpret what you see.
Traveling is wonderful, I was fortunate to travel to Calgary, Banff, and Lake Louise last summer and had an amazing time! Domestically, San Francisco, New York, San Diego, L.A., Denver, Las Vegas, Duluth, Houston, College Station were all great...and of course Flagstaff and Sedona! I have my passport ready sitting here on my desk in front of me just calling me to get some stamps in it.. Countries on the list include: Brasil, Spain, Italy, England, Ireland, France, Portugal, Korea, China, Japan, Turkey, Argentina, Peru, Australia, etc... every county in the world is pretty fair game.
Just be awesome, ok, great =) Submitted from mobile
