My friends and family describe me as caring, intelligent, open-minded and a good listener. I'm lucky to have a job that I love, something that is more than a paycheck. I teach English as a second language at a public elementary school. I get to learn about other cultures, use my creativity and be rewarded by seeing my students read, write and say their first words in English.
I've lived abroad and this experience started my interest in learning about other cultures and languages. I love traveling but more than sitting on a beach at a touristy resort. Some of the highlights of my travel experiences have been hiking to Machu Pichu, canoeing down a tributary of the Amazon and exploring the largest street market in Mexico. It would be great to meet someone who has a similar curiosity about other cultures and sense of adventure.
When I'm not working, I enjoy exercising, cooking, spending time with my family or friends, eating out, or watching movies. I value a healthy lifestyle and can't go without the upbeat mood that exercise gives me. I run or do yoga most days. I'd like to meet someone who shares an interest in being healthy.
I enjoy cooking and I always like trying new things. It's great to have someone to cook with and enjoy the finished product with a glass of wine.
