ABOUT HER & WHO SHE'S LOOKING FOR

Blog #6 "On kindergarten and true love"

I think I must've been out sick from kindergarten they day they taught us how to find "true love". I mean, I was there all the other days when we learned how to make friends, play, share, hug, kiss (on the cheek mind you!), be good to one another, laugh, and all the other important lessons in life that, yes, admit it, we learned at the age of 5 and a 1/2. But somehow, I must've picked the wrong day to miss, so here I am, still trying to figure out how to find that special someone. It's a truly humbling experience, especially when I'm so good at so many other things, like sleeping in until the last possible minute before I would be late to work, eating ice cream without letting it over-drip down the side of the cone, swooping in for the kill at the last nanosecond on an ebay bid, and adding the perfect sprinkle of cinnamon to my venti skinny, half soy half milk latte with a pump of sugar free caramel and low fat whip cream (kidding, I barely drink coffee and even if I did, I would NEVER order a drink that takes longer to say than to drink!). Oh, and did I mention that I'm killer at people watching or how ridiculously good I am at holding my shavasana pose?! So, I can't think of any other reason I'm still single other than the fact that I must've been out sick when they taught the most important lesson in kindergarten. Or, I suppose, I also could have been daydreaming, another one of my awesome skillz ;)

Anyway, suffice it to say that I really wish one of those techies would just write some program for the rest of us to use to easily and efficiently find our soulmate. And no, I'm not talking about ones like creepy Lulu or hook-up Tinder (no, I have not used either, given that I do *not* have a smartphone. And yes, it *is* possible to still exist without a smartphone; but I am probably one of the last few specimen alive without one so you should try to see me before they put me in a museum ;) ) Anyway, why can't someone just figure out a way to match all 5 million dimensions of a successful relationship? After all, they seem to be able to write a program for everything and anything no matter how trivial, right? Oooh, apologies if anyone out there is a techie. Take it as a compliment :) I actually think nerds are quite adorable. In the meantime...if you feel like maybe you missed that lesson in kindergarten too and want to try to figure this out with me (and also share with me some of *your* awesome skillz in life ;)), give me a holler!

Oh, and for anyone who might be waiting for the final, i think part 4? of the last blog, stay tuned! I didn't want to hastily write something and wanted to do it justice, so will need to sit down and give it some thought before i address the question "are white people boring/superficial" ;) Hopefully I'll have a chance to write about that this weekend!

till next, and good night, christine ;)
