So this is new for me... but I thought I'd give it a try- why not?
A little bit about me: I grew up on a farm in rural Minnesota, so I appreciate country-values as much as I love how diverse The Cities are. Growing up on a family farm, I learned how to be a hard-worker, multi-tasker, jump at good opportunities, and remain optimistic when life doesn't turn out how you want it to. Lucky for me, I went to a small high school and took advantage of many extracurricular and leadership opportunities. I ventured to the big city of Ames, IA for college and continued to take advantage of many (more-varied) extra-curriculars, including a study abroad program that triggered my love for travel. After completing my bachelors degree in chemical engineering, I've been fortunate to make great progress in my career, but now I'm looking to find that "special someone".
My friends describe me as a kind, confident, and fun person. I like to travel and am always up for new experiences. I am a very active person, especially in the summer, where you can find me playing sand volleyball, running, golfing, or road cycling (RAGBRAI is one of my favorite summer events). Though I love the outdoors, I'm not a "happy" camper... I prefer running water and a bed to sleeping on the hard dirt... though, when forced, I can be a good sport about it. In my free time I like to play piano, bake, do random craft projects, and practice yoga.
In terms of what I'm looking for, I'd like to find someone who is confident, successful, generous, and kind-hearted. I want someone who challenges me to be a better person every day. I grew up in a loving, Catholic family and I hope my future partner can share those values.
