ABOUT HIM & WHO HE'S LOOKING FOR

I'm a dude, but not a "dooood". I enjoy lots of things; however, making a list of all of them will be tedious for both myself and for your eyes. That being said, I'm just going to ramble here for a bit and see where (who?) it gets me.

I dig movies. A lot. The same goes for music. I'm not an athlete, but I am an athletic supporter (bonus points if you know the movie/musical I just stole that from). I enjoy watching a sports game from time-to-time. Hey, they're fun. I'm just not into sports enough to ever use the word "We" when referring to the performance of the team I root for. College football is probably my favorite sport to watch (why, I'm not sure). I actually enjoy watching golf and tennis, as well.

I don't wear sunglasses because my eyelashes are too long and they always hit the lenses. And, the times I have tried on a pair of sunglasses when that didn't happen, I looked at the price tag and instead of buying the glasses, I fed an entire town in Africa for a decade. The kids still send me letters.

I used to be a Mac "Genius" at the Apple Store at The Grove when I was a young pup. Though I usually get PTSD when thinking of those days and that store, I did have quite a bunch of memorable experiences. I helped Stevie Wonder and he took me out to dinner afterwards as a "thank you" for all of my help. It was incredible. I also met Levar Burton. And, though I reference the song to his hit children's tv show, he was the opposite of cool.

I'm a thinker. I think of lots of things all the time. One of those things being what the hell am I going to write next. Or, what's my favorite prehistoric creature. I'd have to say (well, at least for now) it's a Megalodon. What's yours?

My mom is probably the greatest person I know. My dad's a badass, too. So, is my sister. So, I guess what I'm getting at is that I like my family. That tends to be a good thing.

On occasion, I still refer to men as "boys" or women as "girls". Cool!

Chris Farley was my idol as a kid. I was absolutely devastated when he died.

Ummm...I like pop music. And, indie music. And, bluegrass, country, rap, straight-up rock and roll, metal, classical, etc... You get the gist (I hope).

Sometimes I play board games with my friends on weekend nights. I went to some match.com speed date thingy a while back and when I told one of the, ahem, women I was talking to about that, she immediately got up and went to the restroom. I probably shouldn't have just mentioned that, but, hey, this is supposed to be fun and I think that's funny.

I like lots of different people and find so many various things attractive in a woman that I honestly can not say what I'm looking for. I mean, in the grand scheme of things I'm looking for someone who "gets" me and I "get" her, too. We care for each other for lots of reasons and may not even have ALL of the same interests. I think having some of the same interests is important, but if people (in terms of a relationship) are too similar, things tend not to work out in the long run (from what I've noticed in my own experiences and have seen in others'). So, I guess I'm not really looking for something in particular. We all have something amazing to bring to the table; it's just a matter of that "something" being attractive, unique, and special to the other person.

Okay, that's it for now. Thanks for reading (if you made it this far). I'd love to hear from you. I like meeting new people and am usually up (down?) for anything; so, feel free to send me a message if you'd like. And, it doesn't have to be profound. It should just be from you.

Adios...for now.

I used to have a dog named "Penny Lane". She was a boxer, but I had to give her to my sister's co-worker before I moved to NYC for grad school. There's no way that little girl would've lasted a second in that city.

For fun:

I play a lot of music (guitar mainly). I write a lot, too. Also, I make funny videos that no one ever sees on the internet.

Favorite hot spots:

I'm sort of a "wanderer" these days. My friends live all over LA, so I hang on the east and west sides, both in and out of bars and restaurants. A fun night just chatting and laughing with friends is always appreciated.

Favorite things:

In no particular order: learning new things (usually music, film, or computer related); my family; friends; bubbly water (my SodaStream); listening to music; making people laugh; making films; attending live shows; and playing guitar.

Last read:

"Consider the Lobster" by David Foster Wallace. I laughed. A lot.

I don't really read a whole lot of books. I tend to read more articles and non-fiction pieces (lots of Klosterman), but when I do find a good book, I will enjoy the hell out of it.
