ABOUT HIM & WHO HE'S LOOKING FOR

Hello

My life is spent as a designer/engineer, artist, writer, musician, educator among other things. By day I work at a technology company leading a team that helps make websites, mobile devices and even physical environments more usable. Sounds fancy doesn't it? (We have free string cheese in fridge, which is the main reason I stay). Despite having a pretty cool job, my heart and soul will always lay in the fine arts. I have a creative and active mind and am always learning and exploring. Captivated by Jungian psychology and the 20th century French surrealists. I usually am taking a class or doing something to increase my skills and grow. When I am not learning I feel like I am not living.

I have been working, playing music and going to grad school at night without time for much else the past year, so there hasn't really been any dating going on. Wait..perhaps this was due to my newfound taste for owl socks? Not sure. Finished with grad school now and taking a break from music, so interested in a pal for biking, hiking, motorcycling, sketching urban scenes, creative adventures, going to some shows, making sculpture and art, trying new pubs, living and growing. And trying things you like to do! Show me some cool stuff...

Summer plans for 2014: Buy a canoe...geta telescope and go camping and learn about astronomy (seems fun)... take a sculpture and welding class.. Winter plans: Stay warm! Play music, finish some creative writing projects, work with costume designer on an interactive art/music piece I am doing...

Things that are awesome in women (bullet points!!! aarrggghhhhh!):
• Being smart. The more you love to learn, the better. Intellectual curiousity gets huge points.
• Volunteering or taking care of others: You will have a soft spot in my heart if you make time to help others. Having a big heart is classy. Kindness is valued...
• Being flexible: Life changes continually. I like someone who is goal driven and focused but at the same time dynamic, open and capable of shifting gears. Super rigid people are not much fun.
• Being creative: If you are creative we will have much in common. This could certainly lead to good things.
• Being cute and taking care of yourself: Style is awesome. Women that understand their physical self and dress in ways to accentuate that with character certainly stand out. It doesn't take a ton of money or time, just resourcefulness. I lean more toward the natural beauties than people who wear tons of makeup and smile making a duck face.
• Independent but accessible: Somewhere in the middle is the sweet spot of a person who can do their own thing, but also offer much of themselves when appropriate. Yes please..
• Goofy and lighthearted: A sense of humor. Dry wit as well as a love of silly puns. Slaptstick too...goofballs welcome. I love laughing and having fun. I will take immense pleasure in attempting to make you laugh uncontrollably.
• Someone who challenges me, sees the world differently than me, helps me to grow
• Being affectionate: Life has shown me this is perhaps the most important thing in the long run...

Socially I am an ambivert, one who can do well in group situations (carrying conversations, listening, making people laugh) but also appreciates solitude. I love good company, but can get bored with banal situations rapidly. When possible I love to be alone with a journal and sketching pen hanging out on a beach, crowded piazza or lake shore somewhere. My close friends are much valued and I am probably more loyal than is typical.

So going on a zillion frivolous dates with a herd of people is not very interesting, honestly. Ideally I hope to meet someone here who I can get to know well, someone who is kind, genuine, inspiring, creative, strong, humorous, exceptional, in short someone I can be excited and proud of. Cute too! I can wait as long as it takes. I

Best of luck to us everyone.
