ABOUT HIM & WHO HE'S LOOKING FOR

I'm laid back, but everyone probably says that. I find myself rushing home from work and church to change out of khakis and into jeans and a t-shirt. I only seem to get worked up about silly things like politics, bad driving, and maybe bad grammar (your/you're, their/they're/there, etc)...everything else I seem to take with a 'que ser a, que ser a' mindset.
I can fix my girls' hair. I just used to think this was just 'something I needed to do', but when I fix their hair in public I occasionally get or overhear comments from ladies who are surprised/impressed to see a daddy fixing his daughters' hair. I used to wonder/worry about my "man card" with me not really following the NFL...but after that David Beckham commercial in the Super Bowl, I think I'm in the clear. Sorry, I don't mind watching/attending sports, but I don't actively follow anything except Aggie football...and even that depends sometimes.

About who I'm looking for:
I need someone who I can have interesting conversation with...and not just about my/her kids or work or the weather or our families...although that's all bound to come up. Sometimes intellectual, sometimes maybe even a little gross or goofy. "She" might talk about "stuff" that I'm not 100% interested in, and visa versa...as long as we can make it an interesting conversation! *its obviously the best if there's plenty to talk about that we're mutually interested in.
I'd of course like to meet someone who I have mutual chemistry and enoy spending time with. I'm looking for someone to share my life with...but with the right person. I'd honestly rather keep looking than waste time with the wrong person, and you should too.
I'm not a psychic and would prefer to avoid women who expect me to be. I like constructive criticism...and need someone who does too. It's pointless (for either person) to bottle up issues that bug them (while being angry) or get to the point to not bring up issues that bug them because their significant other gets upset when they do. I think its fine to be ambitious and want to work to get more than you have, but I'm not looking for someone who can't be happy with what they have or who complains about everything...not that we don't all need to vent sometimes. I'm NOT looking for my soul mate...If someone ever tells me that that they're looking for their soul mate, I promise to take it as a warning sign :-) I don't believe in the concept of a "soul mate". I think you have to find someone who you 80-90% match up with, and love them enough to CHOOSE to overlook the minor character flaws (*like snoring or having a weird laugh or being a little dorky sometimes)(**and even grow to love those too) that make them who they are.

One last thing, I've heard back from ladies who are hesitant to get involved with someone with kids because of the ex being involved in the kids lives. I understand that (unless you ALSO have kids...then I'm confused). All I can say is that my ex was crazy and controlling when we were married, but is actually pretty ok most of the time now and things between us are about as amicable as they can be...we can be in the same room and talk every day give updates on how the kids were and to coordinate issues with the kids if we need to.
