ABOUT HIM & WHO HE'S LOOKING FOR

I'm looking for someone to share life's ups and downs--from the exciting to the scary to the mundane--and still have him bring a smile to my face at the end of the day.

I am a news and politics junkie. My friends and family are very important to me. Professionally, my background is in communications/marketing, largely with nonprofits and professional associations. Currently, I am a project/team manager with a tech consulting firm. Am an ISTJ type of guy, if that means anything to you.

I like a night out at a great restaurant for cocktails and dinner as much as I like a night in with comfort food and watching Airplane! for the 57th time. City life is great, but I like unplugging to go camping for a weekend and recalibrate. I like NPR/MSNBC, but I also like stupid stuff like Zucker brothers films, Clue, and AbFab. Musically, I was born about 10-15 years too late--vintage R.E.M., The B-52's, and 10,000 Maniacs are in heavy rotation (as are others like Mavis Staples, Natalie Merchant, Wilco, Johnny Cash, Erin McKeown, Bonnie Raitt, and Aaron Copland).

Who am I looking for? He's earnest, witty, passionate, and compassionate. He'll make me smile/laugh, stimulate my mind, make me feel important, and be who I want to give me a hug at the end of a really bad (or good) day. He's confident in his own skin (without being arrogant), handles himself with integrity, is respectful of others, and knows it takes all kinds to make the world go around.

Dating sites are offer a great introduction, but I think it's important to take things offline before too long and actually get to know one another in the real world.

A great early date would be an activity where we still have the chance to talk and get to know one another, but it's also a chance to get away from the soft glow of a candle-lit bistro table and actually interact with one another. Something like a cooking class where, after working together to make something, we get to sit and enjoy the fruits of our labor.

If you read this and would like to know more, drop me a line!
