Greetings! Its about time that I update this profile. Here is a brief snapshot on how I arrived in Miami: I grew up in Illinois and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and received my bachelors degree in Spanish Literature. I studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain and Puebla, Mexico while in undergrad, then moved to Chicago, then Denver, and back to Chicago while completing graduate school. I moved here quickly after graduation and now work and teach at a local university.
I am very happy being in Miami. People may lack the midwest values, but the culture and uniqueness of the city makes it a fun place to live and at this point in my life I enjoy it. I plan to start a PhD program in Fall 2013, but have that open and am ok with exploring all options. My biggest goal is to start enjoying the present while I plan for the future. Hopefully they will become one in the same : )
My ideal match values education. I understand that a college degree is not necessary, but I feel that the skills/abilities learned in the university settings allow me to connect with others on a different level. I am pretty much into "normal", however that could be defined, guys. If you are ok with jeans,t-shirt, and a pair of sneakers you are good in my book.
The best first date would consist of dinner at a casual place to eat, followed by some drinks at a bar. Honestly, its all about playing to by ear and seeing where the night takes us.
