Where to start? Well, my upbringing was not so ordinary. I was born into a Navy family...so yes, I'm a military brat. I was born in Bergen, Norway of all places and while growing up I lived in London for 4 years and Copenhagen for 3. So I guess the travel bug just comes naturally. Exploring foreign lands is one of my passions; this past January I ventured to Argentina and Uruguay by myself and had an amazing time. The sights, the culture, the people and the steaks made it well worth it!
I recently moved to the Philadelphia area for work. I landed a great job with a consulting firm, and in this economy, I am very grateful. I am also in the military as well, although to my father's chagrin, I joined the Army. I am currently a First Lieutenant in the Army National Guard. I received my commission through ROTC in college. Its one of the best decisions I have ever made...its great to exchange the suit and tie for the camo on a drill weekend and eat MREs with the troops. I've been on one deployment; having gone to the Sinai, Egypt for a year as an international peacekeeper.
Other hobbies include politics, the outdoors, SCUBA, climbing, news, international affairs, sports, you name it. I guess you could say I am a bit of a renaissance man. I try to remain as well rounded as possible and well versed in a number of subjects. My buddies in college dubbed me the "walking encyclopedia of useless information." Don't let that turn you off, as I have quite the wild side and I have been known to kick off a good party.
I'm looking for someone who is adventurous, cultured and refined. Sharing similar values and interests is important, although having everything in common would make things pretty dull ;) Overall, I'd like to meet a gal who can accompany me to the Eagles game and then do dinner on Rittenhouse Square afterwards. Someone who is just easy to mesh with, spontaneous and always up for a fun time. Friendship is a key ingredient to making any relationship work.
