I just moved from DC to the Boston area for work. It is a big change, but one I'm very excited about. I consider myself to be a fun and easy-going person. I love spending time with my family and friends, running, and sailing…almost anything that gets me outside and trying new and challenging things. I try to run a few half-marathons a year. I train with several friends, which makes the longer runs more social and less painful. I generally run races outside the local area and turn race weekends into mini-vacations. My favorite race so far has been the OBX half. In DC I ran with an amazing running club and am looking to do the same here. I sail/race yachts in the Chesapeake during the spring and summer. We have an amazing crew. Although, I've been sailing for a few years, I still feel as though I'm fairly new to the sport and still have much to learn. However, I've finally crossed the threshold and have a rudimentary understanding of how each part of the boat works, and more importantly, the captain no longer sounds like he's speaking Greek. In fact, this summer, I bought my first boat (a Laser 2) which will (hopefully) help me better wrap my head around sailing larger keel boats. I'm looking forward to exploring the Boston sailing community and keeping my fingers crossed I'll find a boat to sail on that also has an amazing crew. In the fall, I took several golf lessons, which proved to be quite challenging (and a little frustrating), but something I'll continue working on. Next step...buying golf clubs. I love watching movies, but find that I am not a harsh critic. If it entertains me, then I like it. However, I stay away from horror movies. I loved them as a kid, but definitely pass on them as an adult. Family is important to me. I'm the oldest of four and I enjoy spending time with my siblings. As we get older, we're beginning to scatter across the country, but we always find time for each other, especially during the summer and during holidays. Finding someone who values family in the same way is important to me.
