ABOUT HER & WHO SHE'S LOOKING FOR

When I walk up to a juke box, the first thing I immediately look for is - James Brown. Then - Queen, Metallica, AC/DC, maybe a little 90's R and B/Hip Hop, maybe a "Safety Dance" thrown in for good measure, and depending on my mood, some Styx, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Parliament Funkadelic to round it out. Of course my personal music tastes go much deeper than this, but this here is the art of the jukebox selection.

A year ago I moved to Philly by myself, because - why not? I had no idea what I would like and dislike and I am happy that I didn't have much of a preconceived notion so my experience has been only mildly biased. I always thought it would be fun to explore the bar/restaurant scene but it turns out that all I want to do in my free time is get on my bike and ride along the Schuylkill River. Sometimes I ride up to Valley Forge, sometimes just Conshy and back. I always get off the bike at some point and just sit near the river. I take in the fresh air, the sun, watch the rowers and keep an eye out for angry geese. There is no doubt that I am happiest when I am cycling.

A few years ago I experienced a great awakening. I quit smoking, cut back on drinking, started eating foods to fuel my body, started cycling, weightlifting and meditating. I began competing in sprint Triathlons and fell in love with long distance cycling. I was starting from square one (or what felt like negative 100) but what I discovered is that the will of the heart and the strength of the mind will carry you through what the body can or cannot do. It's really miraculous - mental strength is invaluable.

Curiosity gets the best of me so I recently tried a Spartan Sprint, Crossfit, and kickboxing. I have only been cycling for 3 seasons, but it is my true passion. I definitely want to try out mountain biking one day and my newest goal is to one day bike Highway One in California. I love challenging myself and I would love to have a partner who enjoys a challenge and follows their curiosities.

Striving for self improvement is central to my everyday life. My focus is on healthy, positive, mindful living. I try to live with acceptance and understanding; with an open heart and mind.
I am very zen but don't get me wrong, I definitely still know how to have fun. I can drink a beer, watch ice hockey, sip on scotch and sing karaoke like the best of em!

What I know for sure, is that I'm looking for a man who possesses a positive outlook, a strong sense of himself, and a determined soul. I would love to meet a guy who shares the passion I have for living with purpose and awareness. Someone who can be assertive and confident without being contemptuous or arrogant. Someone who isn't afraid to leave their comfort zone or push the boundaries and explore.

Compassion and emotional maturity are extremely important to me.
I am looking for a partner who has also created their own complete, fulfilling and independent life.

Objectively describing ones self is not a strength of the human mind, but I'm gonna give it a shot. I would like to think I am a sort of renaissance woman - a motley crue of characteristics. I can be loud, humorous, assertive, vibrant, lighthearted, gregarious and telling wildly animated stories while other times very calm, steady, observant, quiet, reserved, peaceful, and deep in thought.

I tend to be the person my friends come to when they need to bounce an idea off someone or if they need a nonjudgmental, unbiased opinion. In my time bartending I've been faced with a lot of tremendously challenging situations. I bend but never break. I don't see experiences as good or bad but rather opportunities for growth, understanding and improvement.

I've always been naturally observant and absolutely fascinated by the human experience. I think people feel safe opening up to me and I absolutely always find myself in deep conversations with people I've just met - which is by far one of my favorite things in the whole entire world!.
