I really can’t say that I write about myself too often, so here it goes - I’m originally from Cape Cod but moved to the North End for work (tough life, I know). I love it so far, but it never hurts to still be able to sneak back to the Cape in the summer, though. I work in HR/IT (hard to explain, and I won't even try to bore you here with the details) for a big company in the Back Bay, and I have to say I really love what I do. Not hating going into work in the morning is kind of a great thing,
Family is the most important thing in the world to me. I have a sister and a brother who are both younger, and I definitely fit the over-protective older brother description. We were all close growing up, but we recently lost our Dad to cancer back in 2009 and it really made us a lot closer; I can happily call them my two best friends. I tend to head back to the Cape every couple weeks to help out my Mom take care of things back home (highlighted by getting to see our black lab Sarge!), which is part of the reason why I find myself here on Match.
I like making people laugh (or at least trying to make people laugh), and that's definitely a quality that I look for in someone else. Some funny things I enjoy (in no particular order) are: the Stefon character from SNL, Aziz Ansari, the Geico commercial with Dikembe Mutumbo swatting the little kid's cereal box from the shopping carriage (always makes me laugh out loud), stand up comedy, little kids with accents (particularly Boston accents), ridiculous people that I encounter every day on the Green Line, Ron Swanson (bonus points if you know who this is), trying to make Siri say funny things on my iPhone, and movies like Dumb and Dumber, Happy Gilmore, etc.
I'm also a really big Boston sports fan, but I cannot live without the Boston Bruins. Hockey is one of my favorite things in the world, and more often than not you can find me in Section 311 of the Garden cheering on the Black and Gold. I share season tickets with some friends, so whenever I'm not watching in person you can bet I am catching the game on TV or at a bar with some friends. I played just about every sport known to man growing up, and I still love golfing. One of my goals this summer is to play more often.
I am really laid-back and try to see the positive side of everything. You can always find me smiling and trying to make a joke to lighten the mood. If there is one thing I cannot stand, it's negativity.
So what I am I looking for? Good question, a little bit of everything I guess: Someone who has a positive outlook at life. Someone who leads and active lifestyle that loves exploring the city. Someone who is passionate and driven about what they do. Someone who loves nights out on the town but also looks just as beautiful for quiet nights at home with glasses and sweatpants on. Someone who loves her family. Someone who can make me laugh (go ahead and try, I dare you!).
