I am originally from a suburb of New York City, but I came to Boston to go to college and have lived here ever since. Although I've always lived in the Northeast, I strongly prefer warm weather. I like to travel, and I try to take at least one big trip (other than to visit family) every year. I was on an international kick for awhile, but I’ve been checking out new places in the U.S. for the past couple of years. I’d love to go back to Europe though. I'm a bit of a pop culture junkie...I like listening to music (mainly pop and rock, but I'm open to pretty much anything), going to the movies (comedies, musicals, and dramas), and watching tv (again, comedies and dramas, and, I have to admit, some reality tv). I enjoy reading Entertainment Weekly (for the articles). You are far more likely to find me at the theatre or going out to dinner with close friends than at a bar. I have a good sense of humor and love to laugh. Although I sometimes seem a little bit shy at first, once I get comfortable with people, I am pretty funny and have a lot to say. I am a homeowner and a generally independent person but am hoping to find someone who meshes well with my life. I work in the theatre industry, so I’ve had some pretty cool jobs. In November, I was hired for the “dream job.” Now, I’m just trying not to screw it up :-).
Reading people’s profiles is interesting. I see a lot of common themes…skiing, hiking, and travelling to the middle of nowhere. Does anyone just go out for dinner and a movie anymore? A lot of people also seem to have pets (who they care about enough to include in their profile pictures), so I think it’s important for me to say that I am not an animal person.
I hope that didn’t sound too negative (just honest) and that you’ve stuck around to read about what I AM looking for....someone nice and smart who likes good conversation about anything from the serious to the silly, can make me laugh, and has at least a few similar interests. Travel preferences would include tropical locations and fun touristy spots. Someone who's romantic. He's also just as happy lounging around on the couch as he is going out. He would be a good communicator; not afraid to talk about his thoughts or feelings, and he expects the same from me. I think honesty and communication are key in a relationship. The two people are in love, in addition to being best friends. They enjoy spending time together but always make time for their other friends and the things in life that are important to them. It's important to have both an intellectual connection and a romantic attraction.
