I tend to get along best with smart and somewhat quirky people who are passionate about their interests. I like conversations that meander between the deeply intellectual and the completely ridiculous. I think life needs both.
Right now my two main hobbies are food and exercise. Every now and then I like to hit up a top ten restaurant, but I generally prefer cute little holes in the wall. If the menu is not English, I think I am doing pretty well. For exercise right now I am running and going to the gym, but as the weather warms up I would like to explore some of the local hiking. I want to get to Acadia this spring!
I moved to Boston last fall to start a grad program at MIT, mainly focused on how to get more renewable power into the mix. Before, I was working in DC in energy trading (think lots of number crunching, not yelling at a trading pit). I have done pretty well in school and work, and finding a career that I am passionate about and also helps the world is important to me.
Oh , one more thing - I think of myself as a practical liberal who enjoys debating politics, but I can't really compromise on issues that I consider equal rights. If you are against gay marriage this just isn't going to work.
