How do you write one of these that's not cheesy? It's impossible.
Here's my elevator pitch: I grew up in Northern New York, just south of Canada. I went to a NESCAC school, and worked in college admissions for three years after graduation. I moved to Boston in August to pursue my MBA. I'm still not sure about the whole online dating thing, but my schedule is crazy busy, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm a happy person and like to keep my relationships and friendships drama free. I'm looking for someone who can make me laugh and might share a few of my passions...
Things I LOVE: My friends and family. The outdoors-- hiking, paddle boarding, long summer days on a boat, etc. Laughter. TexMex. Reading. Dogs -- you'll notice Ben, my family's Bernese Mountain Dog, in my photos, naturally I think he's the greatest. Scotland. Cooking. Wine. Dancing. College Basketball. Live Music -- anything really, but especially indie, bluegrass, and anything acoustic. Travel. Pubs. Photography. Snow. Movies. Sunday brunch.
Things I HATE: Water snakes -- seriously, I'm terrified.
The most important things I want when I'm dating: Confidence without arrogance. Intelligence. A sense of humor. Manners.
Things I'm a sucker for: Musical ability. Family values. Love of traveling. A hint of chivalry (but don't overdo it, I'm pretty independent). Guys who occasionally wear flannel (this must somehow relate back having been raised in a place called the "North Country"...).
What I'm not attracted to: Shirtless bathroom selfies?!
Deal breakers: Smoking.
