ABOUT HIM & WHO HE'S LOOKING FOR

I've been in San Diego for just about 8 years (how time flies), through LA for two years, originally from Oregon, where I grew up. I feel as though San Diego is my home now, though when I say I'm going home, I still mean Oregon... well, sometimes. Many times I miss the seasons...

My mother raised me to be chivalrous (opening doors, pulling chairs, standing when you leave, etc.), taught me about fashion, cooking and social awareness, while my father taught me to be the "Man's man",-fixing things, fishing, outdoors-capable, etc., which I believe it has created a good balance of the 'City Mouse' and 'Country Mouse'. I'm a very creative person and love figuring out how things work, taking them apart and trying to put them back together (hopefully without any left over parts). I love learning, about most everything, but can struggle to turn off the brain from time to time. I've come to a point in my life where simplifying things is important-stuff doesn't matter, friendships are important, and the pursuit of happiness paramount... Every new day is an opportunity to change your destination.

My daily grind involves being the first person ever dedicated to analyzing and managing civilian programs at the largest military treatment facility in Navy Medicine. It's a lot of work, but I enjoy the challenge. I've been a Civil Servant for just over 4 years and my plan is to move up the chain and retire at 55, when I still have time to enjoy my and my family's time together as physically and financially capable individuals.

I truly believe that we work to live, not live to work. I would hope that you may be the same. I've been fortunate enough to travel rather extensively within the US and abroad (Italy, England, and France) and love the European mentality. I want to retire in Italy or Spain, somewhere quiet, but close enough to a city to make dinners out, going to the opera, or shopping reasonably available.

Family is very important to me. Not only my parents, but my extended family is also amazing, though quite different. I'm drawn primarily to my father's side of the family, whose Irish side provides the fire, and Italian roots have added the spice through my aunt's late husband and kids. My mother's Norwegian side has provided a stoic balance to the mix, for sure. I'm adopted and have known my entire cognizant life; I've sought out my biological parents off and on for almost 10 years, simply to know what I am-am I Italian (the nationality I feel most in connection with and most frequently connected to), or Irish (the nationality many believe I may be, aside from Italian), or simply a mutt, like Max, and loved by those who know him and call him friend.

I've also done a lot of random things: TV, movies, commercials, photography, schooling all over the world, landscaping, construction, sales, personal training... known the high of the high and the low of the low, but managed to stay (or land) on my feet. Each experience I've had has taught me something about myself and I've grown because of it. What experiences have you had which have resulted in personal growth?

I'm looking to find someone who wants to share experiences, stories, and potential adventures; no expectations, no games, simply enjoying one another's company, thoughts, stories and adventures and becoming best friends, lovers & joining our adventures together. I don't do drama (anymore), I live in the moment and respect truth and a 'just say/do it' attitude; if it will provide me happiness I will do what I can to make it happen. This can get me in trouble from time to time, but if feel it's important to live life without worry, doubt, or regret.

The first thing I notice about a woman is her eyes, then her smile. I'm a top-down kind of guy: brain, heart, etc... While the physical is (a lot of) fun, it's important to be able to carry on a conversation about the most random or important of topics, because, when we're old, that's all we MAY have... Interested?
