The reason I joined this site is because I am looking for a friend and companion, being open to the possibility to something more. Someone to do things with, laugh and have fun…get out and live. I feel that unless an experience is shared, it is diminished. I am not interested in long distance anything. I am not a very techie person and don’t have the patience to sit at my computer for hours “chatting”…I want to get out of my house, not be glued to a computer screen. I am all about chemistry and the energy of a person. That can only be achieved in person…not remotely. I prefer to start out with email. When you sit and take the time to write another person, real thought and care is put into what is said…I rank that very high…then, if there are mutual interests we can see from there.
About me:
-I have two beautiful children…who are the light of my life.
-I have a BA in creative writing, a BA in 19th century English Lit, and a MAed.
Although I value education and believe in lifelong learning, I am not limited in my view of people based on their level of education. Some of the most brilliant people I know do not have a college degree. However, I value people who are well rounded in their knowledge and interests; maintain their childlike curiosity; and desire to explore and grow throughout their lives.
-I have lived in many different countries, the most recent being India (my favorite place on Earth). I understand about 40% of Hindi…I speak even less, but am continuing to learn this beautiful language. I am a sucker for Hindi and Malayalam films, shayari, ghazals, and Hindi music…though my musical taste is not limited to Hindi :)
-My travels have also given me such a deep love and perspective for the human condition. I have learned to look past the exterior, the superficial, the differences and connect with people on a much more fundamentally human level…we all have the same emotional scope…we all have pain…we all need compassion. I try to live my life without judgment and with compassion…We all see life through the filter of our own experiences and until you can walk a mile in someone else’s shoes and know their pain, you can’t pass judgment…well, you can, but you shouldn’t. I believe that every human contact has value and is an opportunity. Magic truly happens in random conversations.
-I am a very eclectic person with a wide range of interests. I love to go out and dance to all kinds of music, but I really love to dance to edm…I like the energy. I want to go to Burning Man.
