I'm a musician (harp, voice, cello, piano and learning guitar and banjo) and I have a day job that I adore. As a musician, I have been very successful- I have studied harp for 25 years and voice seriously since I was 16. I have played for Lady Margaret Thatcher, and with 'Kansas', and I've sung with Lee Greenwood. I still get a lot of joy and a feeling of accomplishment when a child in my choir sings as he walks out the door after choir is over.
Volunteering, as in giving of my time, is very important to me, and I do a lot at my church, foster dogs for a local rescue on occasion, play for veterans events, and much more. I'm also active in the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and Daughters of the American Revolution. I'm a Patriot and if you don't know the words to "The Star-Spangled Banner", or you don't vote (just presidential doesn't count) then we might not get along. I am also very much a naturalist and believe in 'live and let live'.
In my free time I sail, usually in Galveston Bay. I've always been a water baby! If I wasn't a musician, I would have studied marine biology (it's quite obvious if I see a porpoise swimming free...) If I'm not on the water, I'm usually working on my yard, playing with the dogs, going to a concert, visiting a historical place or doing living history, or a festival (including Renaissance). I love to dance- two-stepping and hula are my favorites.
I really am looking for a nice guy- a genuine southern gentleman. I tend to be a little old-fashioned, but I'm not looking to be taken care of. I am a hopeless romantic and do not want someone to settle for me, nor will I settle on anyone- I don't think it's fair for anyone.
