Whew! this online thing is rough. I send so many messages with no reply... I'm here because I'm serious about finding someone special and I hope you're here to do the same. Go on, take a chance. I care for the world around me and would like to be with someone that can discuss the good and the bad, hoping for a better world. I would like a real partner in life, someone with a satisfying career (or potential career) of her own, but also someone who would let me pamper and adore her. That’s not so bad, right? I'm a smart guy, I'm a good guy, and in the right light I'm not halfway bad looking.
The long version:
I was born in San Francisco but I haven’t lived in The Greatest City in the World since I was a little kid so, after being back for about a year, I’m still finding my way around. Except for a few years back east for grad school, I’ve lived my whole life in Northern California, however, including a few years on a horse ranch, so I appreciate a good mix of city and country.
I teach chemistry at a community college, which is fantastic. I came from a modest background and was a community college student myself so I love being a role model – someone who “made it.” Outside of work, I enjoy art (both study and practice - I used to draw quite a bit), food and cooking, hiking and outdoors (looking for more excuses to get out), and movies (I’m more likely to see an arthouse or classic film than a summer blockbuster but I’m no snob). I tend to avoid bars since I don’t drink (no problems with it; I just don’t care for the taste) and I hate having to yell to have a conversation.
So, I am the basic Nice Guy and I don’t care about being cool and putting down others to elevate ones self-esteem is lame. Humility is my favorite trait in people and I hold kindness and integrity very highly. I’m no softie, though; I will stand up for myself and those around me, fiercely if need be. I love kids and animals, mostly because they are unburdened by adult pretensions; they want love and are willing to love you back without a lot of fuss.
Who am I looking for? I’m looking for you. I’m looking for someone to explore with, someone to relax with, someone to eat outrageously good food with, someone to take long hikes with to work off that food. I’m looking for someone to have intelligent conversations with, someone to have dumb conversations with, someone who takes their job seriously, and someone who can still play at the end of the day. I’m looking for someone who noticed, but didn’t mind, how many of my clauses ended with prepositions. I’m looking for someone with a great smile that will warm my heart. I’m looking for you.
