ABOUT HIM & WHO HE'S LOOKING FOR

I am kind, considerate, honest, dependable, loyal, devoted, and intelligent. I like helping people.

I am a Christian and politically conservative. I don't enjoy drinking - never developed the taste for it.

For about a year I have been going to Calvary Chapel in Aikahi most Sundays, usually the 8:30 service. Solid preaching straight out of the Bible. And air-conditioned.

I'm in my 4th year at Kailua Int. I taught math at Konawaena H.S. from 2007-2010. Before that Baldwin Park H.S. (home of the BRAVES!) for 3 years.

I worked a couple years for my dad at his shop Evans Speed Equipment. I change the oil and do brake jobs on my car. I am more mechanically inclined than the average non-mechanic. The key is having the right tools and a shop manual (experience helps too). I recently changed the belts on my car - took several hours because some bolts are really hard to access. Time will tell if I did the job right (update: they squeak a bit for a minute if it's rained a lot so I need to tighten them).

One of my friends knocked the front bumper off her car, ripping the mounting brackets. I drilled new holes in the bumper and put it back on.

Driving = Fun. Stickshift for me, thanks - I frequently rev the engine higher than necessary just for fun, and I don'tslowdownforturns as much as the average driver.

I'm 6'5" 190 lbs, due more to a fast metabolism than exercise or diet. After work I like to eat a big bowl of popcorn while I watch some Fox News (DVR'd so I can zip through the commercials). Redeye, The 5, or Cavuto. So if you run screaming at the mention of Fox news ....

On a good weekend I go hiking or snorkeling with friends. I also enjoy going to the shooting range. Midweek ideally a short hike, rarely a swim to Flat Island, lately a jog/walk (walk/jog is probably more accurate) through Hoomaluhia Botanical Gardens in Kaneohe. 2.5 miles in, 2.5 miles out, in about 70-90 minutes. Followed by a smoothie made from frozen bananas, strawberries, and papayas, and pineapple juice. The papayas I get free from King Intermediate, a.k.a. "the dog park," on the occasions when I walk my landlady's golden retriever and yellow lab there.

Music: I love music and stereos. I will postpone a haircut for a month or two to save $14 but spend $100 on headphones after reading enough reviews on Amazon to convince me they're worth it. At home I usually listen quietly, so I crank it up when I can, while driving.

Music can be very therapeutic. I don't often listen to the radio (haven't for years) because I don't have the patience to wait through the commercials, and also I want to listen to what I want to listen to. I don't even have the antenae (not gonna look up the spelling) hooked up in my car, or at home, or in my classroom for that matter. MP3s and CD changers suit me.

I like Metallica, John Denver, Type O Negative, Thievery Corporation and other electronica, classical, 80's, easy listening (think Enya,Carpenters, Flack, Croce), local music like Kekai Boyz/Rebel Souljahs/SDIB et al. Oh and Christmas music for 2 months or so every year :)

My latest interest music-wise is records: I bought a turntable for myself, and then one for my mom and Portlandian brother to replace his which was sounding crackly. Fun to get old records cheap and listen to Roger Whittaker, the Sandpipers, Kenny Rogers, whatever.

Thanks for reading my profile :) 1.8.14
