I want to start off by sharing one of the stupidest things I've ever done...running with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain.
Now, one of the best things I've ever done...also running with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain.
That day sticks with me because I ran the gamut of human emotion in a few short hours--from nervous anticipation, to an ecstasy of adrenaline, to the vivid experience of fear, to the celebatory sangria-induced-coma, to checking to make sure I didn't soil myself after thousands of pounds of wild animal muscle shook the cobblestones beneath my Pumas.
I think I became a man that day--my voice changed, no longer resembling a young, naive schoolboy's that was frequently mistaken for a young, naive schoolgirl's on the telephone--NO, it was a man's voice now. My stride was confident, and I stood taller (which is of extreme importance because when you're Asian, every centimeter counts). I felt closer to my two friends who mustered the same courage (or stupidity) to do something that people only talk about, but never end up doing. But we did do it, and none of us would have done it by ourselves. As a result, I have a memory and a bond with my friends that when I'm old and gray will amuse me and make me smile, and will also make me frown with nostalgia and longing...so, with that out of the way, I'm here to meet an adventurous, fun, spontaneous, nice hair smelling, outgoing, energetic, breakdancing (not a must, but cool if ya did), "Hungry, Hungry Hippos" playin, young lady to forge some new, long lasting memories with.
I am a native So. Californian but recently moved to Orange County this past year. My friends are spread out over Riverside county, San Diego, L.A. New York, so that means I can be on the road quite a bit! And although I've outlined this great adventure above, I'm also low key--I definitely enjoy a dvd or book while relaxing in bed. Often, I'll be watching old Simpsons episodes and the Office. Naturally, I'm a product of what I watch, so my humor has often been described as "dry." But, I think I'm kind of somewhere inbetween the laugh-out-loud and the awkward deadpan styles of humor, which led me to coin the term "damp sense of humor." Ok, it's a reach, but it's the best I got.
Some of my passions include traveling and writing. I've backpacked through Europe and Southeast Asia with plans to visit more interesting places in the future...any suggestions? Traveling definitely helps fuel my creativity. I'm also very athletic and enjoy playing a variety of sports. As of late, it has been flag football that demands my attention. I'm a huge Lakers fan, too, and rarely miss a game with the advent of TiVO.
Alright do we have anything in common? That's enough about me. Let's hear some about you...then, more about me.
*I had Match account about 5 years ago, and this was what I wrote. Wow, what a d-bag I sound like. I'm trying pretty hard, here.
