I love nature and animals, walking, hiking, the beach, quiet nights watching a movie or reading to each other. I often work odd hours which for some people can be annoying, I am on the schedule of wildlife not the other way round. So if we were sitting at a romantic dinner and I got a call for wild animal in distress, off I go. It really does not happen often and I know that can be a deal breaker for many, but I could not sit enjoying myself knowing that an animal in peril. I make really bad jokes and have an Englishman's sense of humor. I like to be the one to open the door, pull out the chair, stand as you return to the dinner table. (My late English Grandmother would have no less of me) chivalry is not dead. If you don't like nature and animals, or you wear animal fur, I am not the one for you. My life is dedicated to rescuing wildlife, educating people not to harm animals, and reducing our human footprint. I am not a sports nut, I have never been to a baseball, football, or basketball game. Only my daughters soccer games as they grew up. No Monday night football for me. I did gymnastics and archery in my youth, and the closest I came to golf was the miniature kind. I relinquish the remote control to whomever wants it. I rather watch a film noir or classic movie then most anything on TV. So a board game, cards, a puzzle, reading, painting miniatures or a stroll is just fine. When the mood strikes I write poems, and I enjoy scholarly quotations; Two of my favorite quotes are: “We are like sculptors, constantly carving out of others the image we long for, need, love or desire, often against reality, against their benefit, and always, in the end, a disappointment, because it does not fit them.” Anais Nin And "When a man's knowledge is sufficient to attain, and his virtue is not sufficient to enable him to hold, whatever he may have gained, he will lose again." -Confucius
