WARNING- Novel ahead; intermission n a cold beverage recommended. :) First, I'm a mom with 2 teenagers, who are 18 and 16. Good news: I'm not looking for a father for my children nor someone to support me. They have a dad and I'm quite capable of providing for my family. One of my friends thinks I'm crazy for throwing this out there first! Her philosophy is that I should get you "hooked" first before delivering that bombshell. I disagree. A divorced mom (an "older" one at that) can be a dealbreaker for some - I get that, so why waste anyone's time.
You're still reading this, so that's a good sign. :) My thoughts on age...it's just a number. I know men in their early 50s who are just as attractive as men in their mid 20s. It's all about being young at heart, your attitude towards life, and how well you take care of yourself. My thoughts on dating...it's kinda awkward after being married for 18 years. Just trying to ease into it; have been divorced for almost 2 years. I'm ready now to find someone who makes me believe in love again...Not looking to rush into anything. Who am I when you're not looking? Well, I'm a girl's girl - meaning I enjoy dressing up for an evening out...makeup, perfume, heels, jewelry...now, don't read that as "high maintenance". I'm definitely far from that - no diva here! But I'm also a tomboy at heart - LOVE, LOVE football (I can throw a mean spiral!), like motorcycles, enjoy playing pool, enjoy watching most sports, playing vintage video games (Galaga), playing softball and volleyball, in general just like anything competitive. Did I mention that I LOVE football?! I grew up in a small town and there's nothing better than Friday night football! Think it would be fun to go to random small OK towns to catch a high school football game. College football - BOOMER SOONER - is my fave, but have started to get back into the NFL to watch former Sooners play like Sam Bradford, Tommy Harris, Rocky Calmus, Roy Williams, etc. I even read the sports page on Sundays during football season! I'm really into music - I like almost everything from country to rock to top 40. I enjoy turning up the tunes, dashboard drummin', and singing my heart out! Others around me may not enjoy it as much. :) Something else I like to do is dance! Maybe I'll find someone who likes to hit the dance floor, too. If not, no worries. I love to travel and see new places. Don't get to as often as I would like, but even quick weekend trips to places you've never been can be fun. Watching movies either at the theatre or at home cuddling on the couch and enjoying a quiet evening is something else I like to do.
I'm open to trying new things and life is a little more fun if you have a partner in crime! :) Qualities I like in a shot-gun partner: sense of humor, confident but not cocky, easy to talk to, respectful and kind, caring, adventurous, looks ahead and not back, athletic, generous with their time and emotions. Someone who enjoys feisty banter, an intellectual conversation, and moments of just plain shenanigans! ;) Do not want someone who is self-centered, close-minded, or just looking for a booty call.
Now, a little something about my character. I've told you what I like to do, but who am I on the inside. I believe in treating others with kindness and respect regardless of their "position" in life. I believe in being honest, but that should always be sprinkled with love/compassion. It's not just what you say, it's how you say it. I care deeply for my family and friends and am loyal to those who care about me. I like to have fun and meet new people, but I'm shy by nature, so I have to work at being a sparkling conversationalist. :) I'm pretty patient and it takes a LOT to get me angry, but I can get sassy at times.
