I'm an eclectic, inquisitive woman who treasures the people in my life whom I love and who love me but I've still managed to march to the beat of my own drummer. I've traveled the world, enjoy a career that is a joy to me (medicine), and am incredibly appreciative for a loving circle of family and friends. My adult life has been an incredible ride--would love to share the next chapter of it with a committed partner.
I was born abroad (Cairo) and grew up across half a dozen states in the United States with a small jaunt in South America (Colombia) as an exchange student. Lots of moving but the trade off is I developed a deep respect for different ways of being and seeing in the world. I had the good fortune to be educated in the Ivy League back East and feel privileged to have been exposed to so many remarkable people during those years. I still consider Boston, NYC, and Philadelphia amongst my favorite places in the world. I've traveled alot--Europe, North Africa, The Middle East, Central America, South America--pretty good language facility. Travel to me is an adventure. Although I've stayed in my share of 5-star resorts, my real preference is to rent from locals and experience life as it is experienced by folks who actually live there. I returned from the East Coast to the West Coast 7 years ago to be closer to extended family.
As with most people who have had the privilege of being exposed to so much, my leisure time interests are super varied--love both intellectual and physical adventures-- Besides traveling, I adore the outdoors-- love hiking, biking, running. I wouldn't really describe myself as super athletically gifted but am game for trying new things and fit enough to do so. I'm a voracious reader (thank god for Kindle when you travel!!). I'm a fan of a good political debate, love the performing arts (particularly theatre). I love a good James Bond flick as much as an art house special.
I'd love to meet someone who is self-aware, honest, kind, intelligent/well educated, inquisitive--a person who is equal parts self reflective and engaged in the world; someone who is connected to family and friends, someone who is doing meaningful work in the world and someone who sees "growing up" as a lifelong pursuit--a journey not a destination!!
