I love spending time with friends over good food and drink, talking about whatever is current. It would be fun to meet someone who is self sufficient, but likes sharing life with a good friend or partner - a person who has many interests, especially interests that involve working with their hands. I have many interests and pursue most of them as soon as I'm able. There are few things in my life that I regret or wish I had done. There are some things said, however, that I wish I could take back, but I'm far from perfect and my daughter reminds me of that every day.
I'm largely interested in a woman's mind and how quick she can move through a conversation and in the end I'm just looking for something without drama. If you're a pain, find a man who will play games - I'm a straightforward guy who plays honest (sometimes, but infrequently, to a fault). Don't mistake that for the fact that I prefer women who are strong and opinionated.
I like to think that people, for the most part, are honest and have good intentions, but as soon as I learn otherwise I will pull down the shade and move on. I'm fiercely loyal to my friends and I take my time when earning friendship. Inane conversation about the weather and your health are fine at first, but a true connecting conversation with a friend or partner are what I prefer and desire. I like to connect on the phone and in person - email and text are way too slow and impersonal. I have an opinion about many things and like to engage my friends to hear their side of a subject, even (and in some cases especially) when we disagree. I find that hearing another side of a subject helps me learn. I come from an Italian family who had heated conversations about many things and am not afraid of intense discussion and am respectful of people who grew up in a "keep in polite" family.
Ooh and I looooooooooathe watching sports on TV (except maybe the 7 World Series games each year). A game at the park once in a while is nice, but the hot dog, beer and conversation are usually more interesting. I would much rather participate in sports than watch.
