I agreed to move to CA for three months two-and-a-half years ago. I ended up getting sandwiched between mountains, the ocean and the desert. There are worse places to be (but maybe some better).
I've amassed an impressive number of life skills over the years. I leave the toilet seat down, acknowledge people who hold doors open for me; clean under my fingernails; take things off the high shelves at the grocery store when asked; alert people to hazardous banana skins lying on the sidewalk etc.
When I'm indoors I've usually got my head in a book; unleashing my lamentable music skills or getting all creative. As for the outdoors, I was brought up on walks in the rain and wet summers. The big yonder always beckons - preferably to places not too crowded.
