Well, I guess if I had to sum myself up in one word it would be "versatile". I like to be prepared for just about anything. I'm about as comfortable in the mountains at my family's cabin or in a boat all day as I am dressed up for a formal event. In other words, I don't mind getting dirty, but I clean up pretty good too. In fact, I've been "mudding" in a tux, ask me about it, it's all my brother-in-law's fault...
I've been in Madison a few years now but still consider myself new to the area. I still need to meet more people outside work and am looking for a partner in crime to help me explore all the things Madison has to offer. I also recently bought a house so I'm spending a fair amount of time (and a lot of money) making it "home". Now that I finally have a house I was able to get a dog. She thinks I'm about the third best thing in the world (it's hard to be cooler than tennis balls and Beggin' Strips). So far I think my friends are much more interested in seeing her than they are me...
I grew up in a small town and still carry many of the values and life lessons I learned there. My family also owns a small business and I've been actively involved in making business decisions since I was about 12 (I still work part-time for them remotely).
Playing sports and staying active is important to me. I'm in volleyball and kickball leagues. I'd love to get into softball and basketball leagues again. I've fallen out of my running habit and should start again too.
I drive an SUV (versatile, remember). It may not be the most practical vehicle for a lot of people but it fits me. I can seat seven, haul gear, etc. It works at my family's land and on the so called "roads" in Montana. I can tow my family's ATV or boat and the bike rack is great when I'm going somewhere with the bike. I also tend to have my snowboard gear in it all winter and even with 4-wheel drive and high ground clearance I've gotten stuck (twice in the blizzard last winter). I also have a small two-seat convertible and a motorcycle that I drive on nice days in the summer.
