Let's see, I'd consider myself to be a physically fit and active professional male that loves to dance, listen to R and B, Jazz, hip/hop and pop. I've been described as a social butterfly that gets along with just about any personality type. Fine dining, a great bottle of wine and a night out on the town - what could be better? However, there are times that I love to be snuggled next to a fireplace watching a romantic movie with the right woman. I discovered the Yummy (and sometimes not so yummy) taste of wine a few years ago, but I love the adventure of trying new reds and whites and finding a bottle that makes you say "WOW"!. I would like to meet a woman that can be outgoing and shows some interest in a little sports spectating from time to time (bonus points if you can cheer for the Lakers!).
For those that believe chivalry is dead, I was raised to treat women with respect, courtesy and as equals. I'd love to meet that special woman that is confident, independent and loves to be part of a couple that others think, "Wow, you can tell they're in love"! I'm looking for that special person that is my best friend... and she just also happens to be my lover and confidant. In other words, we will always have each others' back.
Since my kids are now adults, I've got much more time to spend on travel, special events, great restaurants and fine wine with someone special. I'm also looking for someone that will appreciate the little gestures of affection (i.e., a single flower, a love note, a walk in the park, bringing an extra sweater, etc..). I'm looking for a woman who may be inclined to do the same for her mate.
To get a better feel of who I am, here are some of my "bucket list" items that I've pursued and accomplished (although they weren't necessarily goals when I did them): became the leader of a non-profit charitable organization, conversed with a US President (2 actually), been to the Masters golf tournament in Augusta, attended a couple of Superbowls, watched World Series games in 3 different city ballparks, ordered lunch in very broken French language in Montreal, listened to the Neville Brothers in a small jazz club in New Orleans, taken a helicopter ride to a remote destination, driven over the continental divide, did a pub crawl in NYC, created a food recipe that my friends beg for, golfed from sun up to sundown in Hawaii (45 holes total), taught my kids to give back to their community, divorced with dignity/honor (consider my exwife a great person and close friend), held a dream job working for an elected government leader, and spent three days in Napa Valley with five great friends tasting great wine.
You've probably guessed that I'm a golfer from reading my profile name. I love the game, but there's no need for you to be an expert or even follow the sport. However, if you learned what an "eagle" is, that might be a nice conversation starter when we chat!
One last note (thanks for reading this far), almost everyone I meet for the first time is surprised by my youthful appearance. Humbly speaking, I'm not talking about looking a couple years younger... but often being told that I look like someone 5-10 years younger than my age. Hey, it never gets old hearing that! So if you do meet me... Yes, I am really 50 years old! I got great genes from my Asian mom and African-American dad... being an active member of LA Fitness doesn't hurt either.
